Thank you for using Newsplace, a mobile application offered and operated by Archive Digger, Inc. (“we” or “us”). This Privacy Policy covers information that we collect from users of our Newsplace app (“you” or “users”) and from which we link to this Privacy Policy. We will refer to the app as “Newsplace” or “the App” in this Privacy Policy. By accessing Newsplace, you are consenting to the collection, use, disclosure and other handling of your information as described below. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT USE THE APP.
1. Information Collected From You on the App
Information You Submit to Us
You may provide information to us through the App, such as the following:
Automatically Collected Information
We and third parties may use automated means to collect information about you, your computer or other device, and your use of the App. We may do so through technologies that collect or transmit information from the app (sometimes called “APIs”) or through technology embedded in the app (sometimes called “SDKs”), which may be operated by us.
This information includes the following:
If the App contains links to web content, we or third parties may collect data through “cookies” or “pixels,” which may collect unique identifiers and other log data.
Cookies, Pixels and Log Data are files that websites and online services create and access on your computer or other Internet-connected device to uniquely identify your browser or to store information or settings on your device. If you communicate with us through your browser, we may use cookies to log information such as your device type, screen size, operating system type, browser type, network connection type, domain, and other system settings, as well as the language your system uses and the country and time zone where your device is located. Our server logs also may record information such as the address of the web page that referred you to our App and the IP address of the device you use to connect to the Internet. They also may log information about your interaction with our App, such as which pages you visit. To control which web servers collect information by automated means, we may place tags on our web pages called "Web beacons," which are files that link Web pages to particular Web servers and their cookies.
Location Information . When you use the App, we and our service providers may automatically collect precise location information from your mobile device or computer, such as through an SDK in the App. If you access the App through a mobile device, we may also ask your permission to collect your precise geo-location information. The App may use this location information to provide customized location-based services, content, promotional offers and other information that may be of interest to you. If you do not wish to have specific geo-location information collected and used by us and our service providers, you may disable the location features on your device. Please note that if you disable such features, you may not be able to access or receive some or all of the services, content, features and/or products made available via the App. Also see information in Section 4 regarding “Tailored Advertising and Your Ad Choices” regarding how to opt out of cross-app or interest-based advertising, which is the tailoring of ads to you based on your use of various apps over time, and sometimes based on other information about your inferred interests.
Collection of information across personal devices and applications . Sometimes, we (or our service providers) may use the information we collect – for instance, IP addresses and unique mobile device identifiers – to locate or try to locate the same unique users across multiple browsers or devices (such as smartphones, tablets, or computer), or work with providers that do this, in order to better tailor content and features and provide you with a seamless experience across devices. If you wish to opt out of cross device tracking for purposes of interest-based advertising, you may do so through your device settings.
2. Use of Your Information
We may use the information we collect for various purposes, including, but not limited to:
All of the above information may be combined with each other, in our discretion.
3. Sharing Your Information
We may share your information in the following ways, or for the following reasons:
4. Analytics, Advertising and Do-Not-Track
Online Analytics Providers
To help us better understand your use of the App, we may use third-party analytics on our App. These third parties use the sorts of technologies described in the “Automatically Collected Information” section above. The information collected by this technology will be disclosed to or collected directly by these service providers.
Tailored Advertising And Your Ad Choices
When using the App, you may receive tailored in-app advertisements. We may use third-party service providers to deliver ads on mobile applications or for mobile application analytics. These ad services may track your activities over time (including across different apps) by collecting information through automated means, and they may use this information, and other information they receive from us or other sources, to deliver advertisements to you.
We and third-party vendors may use Device IDs and other automated technologies, and in some cases additional information, (i) to inform, optimize, and serve ads based on past visits to our App or other factors and (ii) to report how ad impressions, other uses of ad services, and interactions with these ad impressions and ad services are related to use of the App.
Each operating system, iOS for Apple phones, Android for Android devices and Windows for Microsoft devices provides its own instructions on how to prevent the delivery of tailored in-application advertisements. You should view your device “Settings” to determine how you can opt out of use of your Device ID for “cross-app” advertising, which is the tailoring of ads to you based on your use of various apps over time, and sometimes based on other information about your inferred interests.
Do Not Track Disclosure
We do not respond to browser-initiated Do Not Track signals, as the Internet industry is currently still working on Do Not Track standards, implementations, and solutions.
5. Security
We take technical and organizational measures to protect your data against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is absolutely secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
6. Third Party Links and Services
The App may contain link to third-party websites, applications and services. If you choose to use these sites or services, you may disclose your information not just to those third-parties, but also to their users and the public more generally depending on how their services function. Because these third-party websites and services are not operated by Archive Digger, Inc., Archive Digger, Inc. is not responsible for the content or practices of those websites or services. The collection, use, and disclosure of your personal and other information will be subject to the privacy policies of the third party websites or services, and not this Privacy Policy. We urge you to read the privacy and security policies of these third parties.
7. Children
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 13 who has provided her or his information to us, please contact us at info@archive-digger.com and we will seek to remove that information.
8. International Users
Archive Digger, Inc. operates in the United States and as a result, the information we collect may be stored in the United States. By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that your information may be transferred to, used, processed, or held by Archive Digger, Inc. in the United States and in other countries, including countries outside of your country of residence and used for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to this Policy
This Privacy Policy may be modified from time to time as our business practices and legal requirements evolve. If this Privacy Policy is modified, we will provide notice of the change by posting the updated Privacy Policy on Newsplace or its successor, and we will include the effective date of the update.
Please review the changes carefully. If you disagree with the Privacy Policy, you must discontinue use of Newsplace.
