ThatByte Žiga Povhe s.p. ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, and disclosed when you use our mobile game RIFTLINE (the "Game"), available on Android, iOS, and the web.
By downloading, installing, or using RIFTLINE, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Game.

RIFTLINE does not require you to create an account with a username, email address, or password. You can play the Game fully anonymously. An anonymous account is created automatically when you first open the Game.
You may optionally link a Google or Apple account to save and restore your progress across devices. When you do so, the following information may be received from the sign-in provider:
This information is used solely for authentication and account recovery. We do not display, share, or use your email address for marketing purposes.
You may choose a display name (2–16 characters) that is visible to other players during multiplayer matches and on leaderboards. Your display name is stored on our servers and is publicly visible to other players. Do not use your real name if you wish to remain anonymous.
When you use RIFTLINE, certain information is collected automatically by our third-party service providers. This includes:
RIFTLINE stores gameplay-related data on our servers to provide the Game's features. This includes your ELO ranking, match history, cosmetic inventory, battle pass progress, in-game currency balances, login streak data, and challenge completion status. This data is associated with an anonymous identifier and is not linked to any personally identifiable information unless you have linked a Google or Apple account.
During real-time 1v1 matches, the following data is shared with your opponent in real time: your display name, ELO rating, equipped cosmetics, lane position, actions (running, jumping, sliding), score, and emotes. This data is transmitted via our servers and is only visible to the other player in your current match.

We use Firebase Authentication to create anonymous user accounts and to manage optional Google and Apple sign-in for account linking. This service collects your IP address and user agent for authentication and security purposes. When you link a Google or Apple account, Firebase receives the authentication token from the respective provider.

Cloud Firestore is a cloud-hosted NoSQL database used to store your gameplay data (rankings, inventory, match history, and progress). Data is stored in the European Union (Netherlands and Belgium regions).

Cloud Functions process game logic on the server side, including matchmaking, purchase validation, and reward distribution. They are hosted in the European Union (Belgium region) and may collect your IP address for event handling.
FCM is used to send push notifications to your device. It collects a device token to identify your device, which is stored in your user profile on our servers. You can disable push notifications at any time through the Game's settings or your device settings.
We use Firebase App Check to verify that requests to our backend services originate from the authentic RIFTLINE app. On Android, this uses the Google Play Integrity API; on iOS, it uses Apple App Attest. These services collect device attestation data to verify app integrity. No personal information is collected by App Check.
Firebase Remote Config is used to deliver configuration values (such as game balance settings and feature flags) from our servers to the app. It does not collect personal information beyond standard Firebase request metadata (installation ID, platform).
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how players use the Game. It collects:

Firebase Crashlytics is a crash reporting service that helps us identify and fix bugs. It collects crash logs, stack traces, device state information, your installation UUID, and IP address. Crash data does not contain personally identifiable information.

RIFTLINE displays advertisements through Google AdMob, including rewarded video ads and interstitial ads. The Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically collects:
This data is used for serving advertisements, measuring ad performance, analytics, and fraud prevention. Where required by law (such as in the European Economic Area), you will be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown. You can manage your ad preferences or opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings.

RevenueCat is used to process and manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. It collects:
RevenueCat acts as a data processor on our behalf. It validates purchase receipts with Google Play and the Apple App Store to prevent fraud and to sync purchases across your devices. RevenueCat does not have access to your name, email, or other personally identifiable information. Purchase data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States.

RIFTLINE is a free-to-play game that displays advertisements to support its development. We use Google AdMob to serve ads, which may include rewarded video ads, interstitial ads, and banner ads.
Personalized ads: Where you have given consent (or where permitted by law), AdMob may use your advertising identifier and other data to serve ads tailored to your interests.
Non-personalized ads: If you do not consent to personalized advertising, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your interests or activity.
Opting out: You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:
RIFTLINE offers optional in-app purchases including virtual currency (gems), battle passes, subscriptions, cosmetic bundles, and other digital items. All purchases are processed through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and managed by RevenueCat.
We do not collect or store your payment information (credit card number, billing address, etc.). Payment processing is handled entirely by Google or Apple according to their respective privacy policies.
RIFTLINE is not specifically directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16. Since the Game does not require registration and uses anonymous identifiers, we do not have a way to determine the age of our players.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at ziga@povhe.si and we will take steps to delete such information.
In compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Google Mobile Ads SDK supports configuration for users under the age of consent. If applicable, ads served to such users will be non-personalized and will not include remarketing.
We retain your gameplay data (rankings, inventory, progress) for as long as you actively use the Game. If you stop using the Game, your data may be retained for up to 24 months of inactivity before being deleted or anonymized.
Analytics and crash data is retained according to the default retention periods of the respective services (Google Analytics: 14 months; Firebase Crashlytics: 90 days for crash data).
Purchase history data is retained by RevenueCat in accordance with their data retention policy and as required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
RIFTLINE is operated from Slovenia, European Union. Your gameplay data is stored in Cloud Firestore within the European Union (Netherlands and Belgium). However, some of our third-party service providers may process data outside the EU:
Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, or the recipient's participation in recognized data protection frameworks.

We do not sell your personal information. However, the use of advertising identifiers by ad networks may be considered "sharing" under the CPRA. You can opt out by disabling your advertising identifier as described in Section 5.
