1 Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information needed to provide the app's features:
- BRAC-registered mobile number and date of birth — for login verification
- 4-digit PIN (encrypted) — if you choose to set one for faster login
- GPS location — only when you use the branch locator feature
- Device type and OS version — for app compatibility
- Anonymised usage data — to improve the app experience
Biometric data (FaceID) is processed entirely on your device and is never shared with us.
2 How We Use Your Information
- To verify your identity and secure your account
- To display your loan and savings account details
- To send notifications for upcoming installments and account updates
- To show nearby BRAC branch locations
- To fix technical issues and improve app performance
Your data is not used for advertising or any purpose unrelated to your BRAC membership.
3 Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share information only where necessary:
- BRAC Microfinance — your account data comes from and belongs to BRAC's system
- Google Maps — receives your location only when you open the branch locator
- Firebase (Google) — used for push notifications and anonymised crash reports
- Legal authorities — if required by law in Bangladesh
4 Data Security
- All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS)
- Your PIN is stored using one-way encryption — never readable
- FaceID data never leaves your device
- The app locks automatically after inactivity
- Access to your data is restricted to authorised personnel only
5 Your Rights
- View your account data at any time within the app
- Disable location access in your phone settings — all other features remain available
- Turn off push notifications in your phone settings
- Request deletion of your app data (PIN, preferences) by contacting us
- To update registered BRAC details, visit your nearest branch
6 Data Retention
We retain app-specific data only as long as your account is active. Anonymised analytics data is kept for no more than 12 months. Account information is retained as required by BRAC Microfinance's records policy.
7 Policy Updates
We may update this policy when the app changes. Updates will be posted in the app and you will be notified. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
