We believe in data minimization—meaning we only collect what is absolutely necessary for the app to function. We collect the following:

2.1 Account Authentication Data

To keep your account secure, you must create an account. We offer three login methods, and you only need to choose one:

Sign in with Google: We receive the email address associated with your Google account.
Sign in with Apple: We receive the email address associated with your Apple ID (or the hidden relay email if you choose to hide it).
Sign in with Phone Number: We receive your phone number to send you an SMS authentication code.

2.2 Your Name

We ask for your name or a preferred nickname during setup. This is used solely to display your identity to your partner inside the app so they know they are connected to the right person.

2.3 Partner Connection Data

When you link your account with your partner's, we store a secure connection between your two profiles so that you can share app features exclusively with each other.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the minimal data we collect for the following purposes:

To create and manage your secure account.
To reliably connect your app profile with your partner's app profile.
To provide customer support if you reach out to us with an issue.
To maintain the safety and security of our platform.

4. How We Share Your Information

Your data is kept within the Pookie ecosystem. We only share information in the following ways:

With Your Partner: Your name and your app activity are shared directly with the single user you choose to link accounts with.
Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services (like secure database hosting or SMS delivery services) to make the app run. These providers only have access to the data needed to perform their specific tasks and are legally bound to keep it confidential.
Legal Requirements: If required by law, subpoena, or court order, we may disclose your information to legal authorities.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption, to protect your personal information and authentication data. While no system is 100% hacker-proof, we are committed to keeping your connection safe.

6. Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your data. At any time, you can:

Disconnect: Unlink your account from your partner from within the app settings.
Delete Your Account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated personal data directly through the app settings or by contacting our support team.

7. Children's Privacy

Pookie is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.

If we make any significant changes to how we handle your privacy, we will notify you by updating the date at the top of this policy or via an in-app notification.
