1.0 Nice to Meet You!

Welcome to LifeBerg! We are delighted and humbled that you are interested in joining our community. Whilst our primary mission is to support you so that you can, in turn, better care for those around you, we also highly value your privacy. We are committed to adhering to the National Privacy Principles established by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and promise to keep your information safe, use your data responsibly and never sell your details to 3rd parties.

2.0 Collection of Personal Data

  1. What information is collected
    • As you complete our onboarding process, you will provide us with basic information including your preferred name, username, email address, country, vocation and age range.
    • When you sign up with 3rd party applications (e.g. Apple or Google), your name, email and profile picture will be shared with us but will only be used for the purposes of sign-in.
    • We may also collect additional information at other times, including when you provide feedback, respond to surveys and change your app or email preference.
    • We may also have access to general statistics on how you and other users collectively use the app (e.g. most popular features, time spent on the app) such that we can continuously improve our service.
    • We will not have access to your password (completely encrypted) or any personal data that you generate within the app (e.g. goals, mood, journal entries).
  2. How we collect your personal information
    • LifeBerg collects information from you when you sign up and when you use our software application.
    • We may also receive some information from third parties (e.g. if you sign up with Google or Apple). However, if we do, we will protect it as set out in this Privacy policy.
  3. Where your data is stored
    • A small portion of your data (e.g. user name and email) is stored on your own device. This is called your local cache storage. We cannot store all of your data on your own devices as the app would likely crash due to data overload.
    • As such, we store the rest of your data securely on our Amazon Web Services (AWS) database located in Sydney, Australia.
    • We do not share your data with 3rd party applications or store your data outside of Australia.

3.0 USE OF INFORMATION

  1. What is your information used for?
    • Your basic information is used for onboarding and sign in purposes.
    • We will also use the email that you provide to alert you of new updates and opportunities available to you. You can opt out at anytime.
    • We may also generate statistics on how you another users collectively use the app to better understand your needs and improve our services.
    • When you use LifeBerg (e.g. create goals, countdown timers, to-do lists) your data is private to you but will processed in our database to provide you with appropriate displays, statistics, graphs and notifications.
  2. Disclosing your information
    • Your basic (non-identifiable) information (e.g. username, country, vocation, age range) will only be accessible to LifeBerg for the purposes of app operations, app improvements and collective user-base statistics.
    • General statistics on how you and other users collectively use the app may also be shared to Google analytics to improve our services and user experience.
    • We may rarely need to disclose your personal information to comply with legal requirement (e.g. law, regulation, court order, warrant) or in response to law enforcement agency request.

4.0 SECURITY

  1. Our commitment
    • We are committed to ensuring that your data is safe and secure. Therefore, we have opted to use the Amazon Web Services (AWS) to host our app and store your data. AWS is one of the most reliable servers globally.
    • We have utilised industry standard encryption and passwords to ensure that your data is protected from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.
    • We also only permit very few members of our team who directly manage our app operations to access to our server and database.
  2. Caveats
    • Although we take significant measures to safeguard your data with encryption and passwords, in recent years, apps and companies globally have at times faced data breaches. As such, we unfortunately cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information that is collected from you.
    • In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities within 72 hours as required by the applicable law.

5.0 SOFTWARE APPLICATION

  1. Automatic collection
    • Like any other applications, our software application may collect certain information automatically including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID and IP address, your operating system and the type of internet browsers you use.
    • Information about the way you use the application and any glitches that you face, may also be collected for quality and improvement purposes.
  2. Third parties
    • Our software application may sometimes have links to other applications or websites not owned or controlled by us. These links are meant for your convenience only.
    • Links to 3rd party applications and websites do not constitute sponsorship, endorsement or approval by LifeBerg. LifeBerg is not responsible for the privacy practises of 3rd party applications or websites.

6.0 RIGHTS

  1. Complaints about privacy
    • If you have any questions or complaints about our privacy practices, please feel free to contact us at connect@lifeberg.app. We take complaints very seriously and will respond shortly after receiving your complaint.
  2. Op out right
    • Please note that you have the right to erase your personal data at anytime. To do so, simply delete your account (settings --> account settings --> delete account).

  3. Changes to privacy policy
    • Please note that we may change this Privacy Policy in future.
    • We may modify the Policy at any time at our discretion and all modifications will be effective immediately upon our update of the Policy on our website. Please check back from time to time to review our Privacy Policy.
