Privacy Policy

For the mobile application English ↔ Mizo Dictionary (the “App”), available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
Application ID: com.khampat.zoliana.dictionary
Last updated: 18 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it. The App is a bilingual English–Mizo dictionary developed by Lalthlankima (Thet Naing) and Zolianmawia. We respect your privacy and have designed the App to keep your data on your device wherever possible.

In short: We do not operate servers and we do not require an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or precise location. Your bookmarks, recent searches, added words, and settings stay on your device. Limited data is processed by third-party services (advertising, dictionary look-ups, and voice recognition) as described below.

1. Information the App Handles

a) Data stored only on your device

The following are saved locally on your device and are never sent to us:

Uninstalling the App removes this local data.

b) Advertising

The App displays ads using Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob and its partners may collect and process data such as your device’s advertising identifier, IP address (used to infer approximate, coarse location), device information, and app-interaction/diagnostic data. This may be used for both personalized and non-personalized advertising, subject to your consent and device settings.

Learn more in Google’s Advertising policies and Google Privacy Policy.

c) Dictionary enrichment (third-party look-up services)

When you open a word, the App may send only the word you are viewing to third-party language-reference services in order to fetch additional content such as pronunciation, definitions, example sentences, synonyms, and antonyms. These services receive only the single word being looked up; no personal identifiers are attached to these requests.

d) Voice search (microphone & speech recognition)

If you use voice search, the App accesses your microphone and uses your device’s built-in speech-recognition service (provided by Google on Android or Apple on iOS) to convert your speech into text. Audio is processed to provide this feature; the App does not record or store your audio, and we do not receive your voice data. This feature is only active while you choose to use it.

e) Notifications

With your permission, the App shows a local “Word of the Day” reminder. These notifications are generated on your device; no data is sent to us to deliver them.

f) In-app purchases (if offered)

Any optional purchase (for example, removing ads) is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We do not receive or store your payment-card details. Purchase handling is subject to the respective store’s privacy policy.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with the third-party service providers described above (Google AdMob; third-party language-reference services; your device’s speech-recognition provider; and the app store for purchases) solely to provide the relevant features.

5. Data Retention

Data stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Data processed by third parties is retained according to their own policies.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). The App contains advertising. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.

7. Your Choices

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
