This season, we had the privilege of showing up at tables where purpose, creativity, and community intersected. Each event brought its own story, and we were delighted to bring those stories to life through food and hospitality.

Building A Culinary Empire

If you’ve ever wondered what it really takes to turn passion into a thriving culinary brand, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss. Chef Kiara “Killa” Hardy, founder of Kitchen Killa Culinary Solutions, was recently featured on the Mama, We Made It! With DJ & Reg podcast, hosted by Daryl Jones and Reginald Hamlett.

In the episode, "Build a Culinary Empire", Chef Kiara shares her journey from leaving a stable career to pursuing culinary school, stepping into life as a private chef, and ultimately building Kitchen Killa Culinary Solutions into a brand rooted in both elevated cuisine and community.

The conversation highlights the balance between passion and business, emphasizing the importance of team building, purpose, and creating meaningful experiences along the way.

Elevating Community Through Food and Purpose

Kitchen Killa Culinary Solutions was thrilled to cater Elevate Our Future, an event by Elevate Oregon dedicated to raising funds to empower the next generation through education and mentorship across Portland and Vancouver schools.

Designed to bring people together over meaningful conversation and shared purpose, the culinary experience reflected the spirit of the evening: bold, thoughtful, and deeply intentional.

Guests enjoyed an interactive dinner station featuring chef-carved smoked tri-tip, orange bourbon glazed jerk chicken, and charred wild mushrooms, offering a balance of rich flavors and plant-forward options. Passed hors d’oeuvres added to the experience, including grilled citrus garlic butter shrimp skewers, potato and bacon croquettes, and mini smoked mac and cheese bites.

Fool's Palace: A Playful Feast at Wieden+Kennedy’s Founder's Day 44

On April’s Fool's Day, Kitchen Killa Culinary Solutions brought bold creativity and a touch of mischief to Wieden+Kennedy’s Founder's Day 44, themed Fool’s Palace.

Celebrating its 44th edition, the annual event is known for pushing boundaries, and this year’s theme invited a fully immersive, whimsical culinary experience. Our team leaned all the way in, crafting a menu that was as imaginative as it was delicious.

From googly-eyed fish to caviar-topped potato chips, every detail was designed to surprise and delight, with playful, prank-inspired touches woven through the service that kept guests doing double takes.

Guests also enjoyed bacon nacho cheese caviar topped waffle fries, and interacted with the experience beyond the plate, including a spin-and-win wheel that added an extra layer of fun to the evening.

It was a celebration of creativity in every sense, where food became both a conversation starter and an extension of the event’s vibrant, unconventional spirit.

A Thoughtfully Curated Evening of

Flavor and Impact

When community comes together for a greater cause, the table becomes more than a place to eat, it becomes a place to connect. Kitchen Killa Culinary Solutions was proud to create a menu that supported this shared sense of purpose and togetherness at the Youth Rights & Justice 2026 Gala.

The culinary lineup brought together vibrant, globally inspired flavors with a strong focus on balance and accessibility. Guests enjoyed ginger-braised chicken with scallions and citrus soy glaze alongside chili-lime grilled shrimp with pickled Fresno chiles, each dish layered with bold, memorable flavor.

Plant-forward offerings played a central role in the experience, including coconut jasmine rice with toasted sesame and potato and lentil samosas served with tamarind mango chutney. We offered a light and indulgent finish with a strawberry rhubarb coconut panna cotta with oat crumble. Every detail of the menu was crafted to complement the purpose of the gathering, creating a dining experience that felt both nourishing and intentional.

Poetry, Brunch & Meaningful Conversation

The Chef Team curated an intimate brunch menu to match the poetry read and discussed at A Moment to Reflect, an intimate brunch hosted by Carla Penn-Hopson featuring a special reading by beloved author Crystal Chanel from her debut poetry collection Daughter Of The Diaspora.

The morning created space for thoughtful conversation, an experience designed to complement the warmth and intention of the event.
