Spreading The Love Through Community, Culture, and Cuisine

Kitchen Killa Culinary Solutions had the honor of serving at the annual Spread The Love Gala hosted by KairosPDX, an evening rooted in joy, purpose, and powerful community connection.

Held at the beautiful Avenue Portland, the gala brought together changemakers, families, and supporters to celebrate and invest in culturally affirming education. KairosPDX continues to lead transformative work that uplifts Black students, empowers families, and nurtures the next generation of leaders and innovators.

Our team was proud to curate a culinary experience that complemented the spirit of the evening. Each dish was crafted with intention, reflecting both the warmth of the gathering and the richness of the mission behind it. From the first bite to the final toast, the room was filled with connection, celebration, and shared purpose.

Honoring Legacy with Hometown Heroes Celebration

Last month, the community came together for the Hometown Hero Celebration, presented by Juneteenth Oregon, honoring Black excellence and legacy. The event uplifted leaders, changemakers, and visionaries whose impact continues to shape our communities. Rooted in the spirit of Dr. Carter G. Woodson’s vision, the moment reflected a powerful legacy of honoring the past, affirming the present, and carrying that wisdom forward. With NBA star Damian Lillard recognized as the featured Hometown Hero awardee, the afternoon was filled with inspiration, reflection, and celebration.

We were proud to cater this meaningful gathering, curating an experience that brought people together through food, culture, and connection. Through storytelling, recognition, and shared moments around the table, Juneteenth Oregon continues its mission of preserving history, uplifting culture, and creating spaces where community and progress come together.

A Seat at the Table: Honoring Voice, Vision, and Community

Chef Kiara “Kitchen Killa” Hardy took part in a powerful evening of conversation, connection, and reflection at A Seat at the Table, hosted by Chef Jewan Manuel. Bringing together influential voices in the hospitality industry, the live panel created space for honest dialogue around what it truly means to build, lead, and belong. Rooted in shared experience and purpose, the conversation explored identity, representation, ownership, and the importance of community within food and hospitality.

Chef Kiara joined an inspiring group of panelists including Rajiv Harry of Plant Bomb, Chef Fatou Ouattara of Akadi, and Zackary Onuoha of The Down Beat. Each voice added depth and perspective, highlighting both the challenges and the beauty of carving out space while uplifting others along the way.

Moments like these remind us that hospitality extends far beyond the plate. It lives in storytelling, in advocacy, and in creating environments where people feel seen, valued, and heard.

2026 NIKE SNKRBall : A Culinary Journey Through Time

Kitchen Killa Culinary Solutions had the honor of catering the 2026 Nike SNKRBall, a high-profile celebration of sneaker culture, Black excellence, and community hosted by Nike’s Black Employee Network.

Designed as more than just a menu, our culinary experience told a story spanning over 100 years of Black culture, weaving together food, music, fashion, and history through each bite. Guests journeyed through eras, from dishes inspired by the Renaissance period like wild mushroom with Hoppin’ John collard slaw to bold, modern expressions and future-forward flavors like hot honey crispy cauliflower and Caribbean spiced pork pastor tacos . Each element was crafted to reflect legacy, innovation, and cultural influence, creating an immersive experience that honored the past while celebrating what’s next.

As we continue this journey, we remain grounded in what matters most: creating meaningful experiences that bring people together and leave a lasting impact. We are grateful to partner with organizations, leaders, and communities who are shaping culture and building legacy every day.
