July in Review π
Before and after the break, our participants enjoyed a wonderful mix of learning, creativity, community engagement, and exciting outings throughout July.
July Program Highlights
Time flies when you're having fun, and July certainly flew by! It was a month packed with exciting adventures, creative activities, and memorable experiences that kept our participants engaged throughout the winter school holidays.
We kicked off the month by settling back into our regular routine with a range of engaging journaling activities, fun maths exercises, DIY puzzles, and other educational games that encouraged learning while having fun.
As the school holidays began, so did a fantastic lineup of excursions. One of the highlights was a visit to the popular Hijinx Hotel in Alexandria, where participants split into teams and competed through a variety of interactive challenge rooms, testing their problem-solving skills, teamwork, and creativity.
The holiday fun continued with Jersey Day to celebrate the State of Origin decider, creating colourful cardboard hats, exploring the inspiring exhibitions at Campbelltown Arts Centre, and enjoying an action-packed day at Entertainment Park in Bankstown.
We were also thrilled to be invited to Fire Truck Day, hosted by our wonderful friends at Extraordinary Abilities. Participants learnt valuable fire safety skills from local firefighters, explored a real fire truck, decorated their own firefighter hats, enjoyed a delicious lunch, and spent the day making new friendships. A huge thank you to the team at Extraordinary Abilities for including us in such a fantastic community event.
Back in the Circle of Hope kitchen, our participants embraced the winter season by preparing a range of delicious homemade meals and treats. Together we cooked hearty pumpkin soup, made classic shepherd's pie, and had plenty of fun creating the viral dot cakes in both chocolate and vanilla flavours.
July was filled with laughter, learning, new experiences, and lasting memories. We are incredibly proud of everything our participants achieved throughout the month and look forward to another exciting program as we welcome August!
