October in Review

October treated us well as our jam packed program kept as all booked and busy.

The first few weeks brought around another set of school holidays. We kicked off the break by heading out to Ryde Aquatic and Leisure Centre, which was followed by a trip to Luna Park where we experienced the stunning views of not only Darling Harbour, but the sparkling displays at the Dream Circus show. We also spent the day at Brighton Beach and made our own smoothies to wrap up the first week.

During the second week, we ventured off to Aqua Golf in Penrith, caught our own fish at Putney Park and made some fish tacos. You can see the full extension of what went on in the recap video below.

Even though some of our participants had to go back to school, it didn't stop us from continuing to have our own fun. We cooked up a storm in the kitchen as we made our own custard tarts, cheats sausage rolls and mini pavlovas.

The Halloween spirit also took over the Day Centre later in the month and to celebrate we did some spooky themed tracing and made some creepy halloween masks. Our friends also took the time to head out into the community, spending some time outdoors.

Circle of Hope offers several activities and programs for all ages and abilities. We currently have capacity for participants to join our Day Program. For more information or to view our Day Program visit our website.

Cake Decorating Classes

A few weeks ago, our friends Salma and Alaa began attending a weekly cake decorating class held by TAFE NSW at the Auburn Centre for Community.

Over the next 16 weeks, the girls will be able to improve their cake decorating skills and learn new cake decorating techniques. At the end of the course they will receive a certificate of attainment in Introduction to Hospitality.

We can't wait to see what new skills they'll pick up.
