August in Review
The final month of winter has come and gone and Spring has officially sprung, if we can say that.
The gloomy weather didn't stop us as we cooked up a storm in our kitchen as well as going on a few outings plus getting creative in our art and craft area.
We tested our new recipes this month, including a range of sweet and savoury dishes. August began with us putting our own spin on a beloved classic - spaghetti and meatballs. We also made mini apple crumbles, meat pies complete with tomato sauce smiley faces, honey joys and butter chicken which ended up being delicious. Activities like these allow our participants to improve their coordination, motor skills giving them the opportunity to learn important life skills they might need later on in life.
The creative juices were flowing as we experimented with DIY glitter jars, painting with bubble wrap, dot painting and puzzles that featured lady bugs and fancy looking houses. We also got our zen on by having a yoga session which turned into an impromptu dance party as well as getting our heart rates up a little with a game of duck, duck goose.
September starts next week and we can't wait to show what we have planned!
