The 3-ONE: Systematic Motivation, Cheap Seats, & Significance Calculation

March 11th, 2025 | www.NSCcoaching.com

My observations from over 50 powerful conversations this week with elite CEOs, from a variety of industries, across the Nation that are experiencing tremendous growth in THIS market…

We've distilled the most impactful conversations to share one empowering question stack, one mind-bending bumper-sticker quote, and one concept to challenge your status quo this week.

An Empowering Question Stack to Consider

Am I focusing too much on immediate results instead of trusting the process of gradual improvement (1% better every day)? Who is the person I want to become, and what habits would that person embody? What small, consistent actions can I take daily that will compound over time to create extraordinary results? What systems can I build to support my goals instead of relying solely on motivation?

A Mind-Bending, Bumper-Sticker Quote to Consider

"The loudest boos will always come from the cheapest seats."

A Concept to Challenge Your Status Quo

Rory Vaden's concept of “3-dimensional thinking” revolutionizes traditional time management by introducing the idea of multiplying time through the “Significance Calculation.” While most people prioritize tasks based on urgency (how soon it matters) and importance (how much it matters), Vaden adds a third dimension: significance, which evaluates how long a task will matter.

Key Principles of 3-Dimensional Thinking:
1. Significance Calculation: Focus on activities that create lasting benefits. For example, automating bill payments may take time today but saves hours repeatedly in the future.
2. Focus Funnel: Evaluate tasks through a filtering process:
- Eliminate: Remove unnecessary tasks to free future time.
- Automate: Invest upfront to streamline recurring activities.
- Delegate: Assign tasks to others when possible.
3. Emotional Permission: Multipliers give themselves permission to spend time on tasks today that will simplify tomorrow, breaking free from the "tyranny of the urgent.
4. 30:1 model: For each minute a “significant task” takes its reasonable to invest thirty minutes to automate or delegate that task. He would evaluate the success of this method to “multiply time” by assessing the return on time invested (ROTI).

This mindset shift encourages individuals to prioritize tasks with long-term impact, enabling exponential productivity rather than linear progress.
