Viral TikTok brings the right person fame - leader, first-time author, sweet man.

A 10 second TikTok video changed an author's life.

"This sweet man is sitting at Barnes & Noble with a stack of his books he wrote and my heart is breaking every time someone passes him," Taylor Mae posted. "Update: we went back [with 4 year old daughter and aspiring writer] and got the book - he was sweet."

That video went viral. (79.7 million views at time of writing).

The man - Jonathan Stanley - made a TikTok account (23rd March). Jonathan's caption on his video about that day:

Yesterday, my life changed.

After my book signing at Barnes & Noble, something unexpected happened.

A single TikTok video went viral—30 million views and over 4.1 million likes, and my account grew from 1 follower to over 208,000* in less than 24 hours. My first video has already passed 1 million views.

And then the unthinkable: My book soared to the top of the Amazon bestseller lists in multiple categories. But it wasn’t the numbers that moved me to tears yesterday.

It was you.

I’ve received thousands of messages—so many I can’t keep up.

  • Words of encouragement.

  • Stories of hope.

  • Notes from people who said the book changed their perspective… helped them become better leaders… and reminded them of the importance of bringing humanity back into the workplace.

When I wrote this book, I had a straightforward hope: That it would help just one person.

That someone, somewhere, might read it and realize they’re not alone. That caring, compassionate leadership isn’t soft—it’s powerful. As leaders, our responsibility isn’t just managing outcomes; it's uplifting those who make those outcomes possible.

I never imagined this kind of response.

And in a world that can often feel lonely, especially as a first-time author…

  • You made me feel seen.

  • You changed my life.

  • And I’ll never forget it.

Taylor's comment (65.5k likes): So happy our paths crossed at just the right time 🥰 we wish you nothing but the best!💖

Jonathan replied: Your simple act of kindness changed my life - and its ripple effect is spreading goodness in the world, reminding us all of the incredible power of compassion.

"We made the right person famous." - commenter (5.4k likes).

"This goes to show just how influential TikTok is. And most importantly, despite the negativity we see in the news on a daily basis, this shows there are still so many good people out here in this world." Reyah the Last Dragon.

*Jonathan now has 754.6K followers (end of April). They were reunited for a TV interview!

Kitten terror. Cat co-regulation.

This video of a terrified kitten - abused by previous owners - approached by new foster cat mom. Slowly. Calmly, patiently - amazingly - this cat knows exactly what to do, movement by movement. And when, after all that careful patience, the kitten calms down, it just feels magical.

Love_ethic_yoga on Instagram took this as a beautiful visual representation of co-regulation in the work of helpers, healers and changemakers. "How we show up matters. So when we show up like this cat, grounded, patient, attuned and present, we can help co-regulate those that we serve… As change makers… the only way we do that is with a radical self-care practice."

99 tiny homes for the homeless.

Marcel LeBrun decided to put $4 million from the sale of his tech company (2011) into a project he called 12 Neighbours: an innovative gated community consisting of 99 tiny homes on a 65-acre plot, to house the homeless.

"In the age of Musk, Zuck and Bezos, Marcel LeBrun is a palate-cleansing tech magnate. He rebuffs the more-is-more mentality of his peers, instead seeing his wealth as something of a fluke, something to spread around." - Maclean's magazine.

Residents have just enough space for a living space, kitchen, small bed, bathroom, and modest front deck. Roof solar panels provide renewable energy for the homes.

After 70 homes were built, 12 Neighbours secured $12 million in government grants to continue to expand further. Marcel plans to build a community centre, a teaching kitchen, and a silk printing business and coffee shop for employment.

"We want to eliminate chronic homelessness," LeBrun said to CBC (April 15th). "And we want to inspire and support other communities to do the same thing."

These 99 tiny homes have provided stable, permanent housing for the homeless for 3 years. When the project started, at least 1,800 people were homeless in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. LeBrun wants to do more.

"What we're doing here is not just building a little community, but we're building a community like a city, like how do we help our city be better?"

12 Neighbours is on Instagram: A dignified micro home community, where housing is just the beginning.

Optimistic beliefs I genuinely believe are true.

With 103 likes, this Bluesky thread of things I genuinely believe in my heart to be true by Divinecoffeebinge:

1. Most People Are Good, Actually; They're Just Kinda Dumb.

We're all just idiots bumbling through life a day at a time, trying to figure our shit out. But most of us are good at heart - honest and generous and loving. Most people will do the right thing! They just have to learn what it is first!

2. Helping People Feels Good.

We've built a society that does its best to keep you from knowing this by discouraging helping other people, but they cannot hide this fundamental truth from you. It feels GOOD to help people. That's because we're meant to do it.

Ad: Get shiz done, side by side, with versa-buddy.

I’ve always been a doer.

Not because I hustle for the sake of it, but because doing is how I make sense of the world. I think (a lot) and immediately move into do mode with a speed that often takes other people's breath away.

Over the years, I kept finding myself in the same role for people I work with, whether officially hired for it or not.

Helping founders, creators, and multi-passionate minds take all the plans, pivots, and possibilities swimming in their head…

and actually turn them into finished, working things.

And it lit me up every single time.

So now, I've turned that support into an actual service.

Versa-Buddy™ is 1:1, real-time, brain + body doubling for people with too many tabs open (mentally and literally).

It’s where we stop the spiralling and start moving. Together.

Not coaching.

Not passive accountability.

Just two humans sitting down, making a mess, and getting shit done, side by side.

If you’ve ever worked with me and thought, “Wow, I wish I had more of this…”

Now you can.

Book real-time, 1:1 support for real brains trying to run real businesses.

“It is only in our darkest hours that we may discover the true strength of the brilliant light within ourselves that can never, ever, be dimmed.”
