Summertime Fun Time

Summer is in full bloom and things are heating up here in the Kansas City area. There are few things more refreshing than taking a swim this time of year. Many dogs enjoy swimming, too. The good news is there are places for your dog to enjoy taking a dip in our neck of the woods. One popular place is the Shawnee Mission Off-Leash Dog Area, which has a Dog Beach.

July's Dog of the Month

Meet Sherlock

This handsome guy was found as a stray the end of March of this year and is now in the care of the nice folks at North Kansas City Animal Control. Sadly his family never came to get him and he has been hoping to find a new family ever since. Sherlock is an approximately one year old shepherd mix. He is potty trained, loves playing outside, giving kisses, getting treats, and making new friends. In addition, he is a water bug and loves playing in the baby pool.

Sherlock weighs 61 lbs. He is neutered and is up to date on his vaccinations. His adoption fee is only $105. To meet Sherlock, call North Kansas City Animal Control at 816-274-6024. Help us find Sherlock a new home by sharing his story!

The Dogs' Spot is sponsoring Sherlock's adoption by providing a $100 Dogs' Spot Gift Certificate that can be used to buy Sherlock items from our Boutique such as a new collar, dog bowl, enrichment toys, treats, leash from the Lucky Leash Co. or for training. In addition, to help Sherlock and his new family get off on the right foot, The Dogs' Spot will donate a 30 minute in-facility or virtual private training session.

For more information about adopting Sherlock, or any of the great dogs and cats in their shelter, contact North Kansas City Animal Control at 816-274-6024.
