REDTAIL NEWS

Welcome to our September edition! The month went by quickly, as we finalized the tweaking and testing for the Investment Lens and EVCR products. Our goal was to have both operational in time for the Small Business Expo, and we just made it under the wire. Both the Lens and EVCR are now functional and available, and we will be officially launching the products in October! 

The effort to get these products finished and prepare for the Expo left us with little time for research and article writing, but we will get back to that this coming month. Redtail has some new projects cooking on the back burner, and we plan to announce the first in our next newsletter. 

We are now looking to actively grow our audience and community, so if you agree that innovation deserves to be made available through entrepreneurship and collaboration, please pass along this newsletter and contact us if you have any ideas to further the cause.

Redtail's a hit at the Small Business Expo!

Redtail Capital had a strong presence at the San Diego Small Business Expo in September, with a premium booth that enjoyed hundreds of inquisitive visitors. The feedback on both the Investment Lens and the EVCR products was exceptional, with several prospective marketing partners inquiring about collaboration and cross-marketing. Business brokers, financial consultants and other business service providers saw the potential of offering our EVCR line to their clients. Several investors stopped by, asking about our portfolio, what we are interested in, and possible co-investments. Over a dozen startup founders stopped at the booth and were very excited about the Investment Lens and saw the value it could provide. We held a workshop at 2 pm that was standing room only and received a very strong reception. A dozen people came up to the podium after the presentation to ask questions and discuss their particular challenges. 

PORTFOLIO NEWS

Burble Neuro is commercial! On Sept 21, Burble flipped the switch and began accepting paying customers. Early returns are positive, and we look forward to hearing about the first full month of operations in October.

OK Stone recently closed its Series B2 round at a $242M valuation. Redtail's current time-weighted return is over 38%, and we believe that the company is just beginning to realize its potential. We will be happy to direct investors to the company if they are interested in the B3 round coming up.

Vessl Prosthetics has announced that it has begun selling its Kinn product line through direct sales and distributors. The company is now advertising and attending trade shows to drive sales. In September, they attended three events, including the largest national trade show for prosthetics in Las Vegas. The company has received Health Canada approval and can now begin selling in Canada as well as the U.S.

Featuring startup pitches, a VC panel, and networking, the event will bring together Southern California’s founders and investors. Jay will be attending and welcomes the opportunity to connect.

Global Startup Symposium

| October 29 • Virtual

Technology and life sciences startups take the spotlight at Pismo Ventures’ Q4 Global Startup Symposium. Designed for companies at the pre-seed, seed, and Series A stages, the virtual event offers opportunities to present, connect with investors, and explore funding. Jay will be joining to engage with founders and the broader startup community.
