Back Pack Fundraiser for Children in Foster Care

Dear Beautiful Faces Going Places Friends,

We are excited to invite you to join us together with the Women of Community Impact to support the Back Packs for Foster Kids program benefiting the foster youth served by New Path Child & Family Solutions in Greater Cincinnati.

Together, we will be filling 50 backpacks with essential items, comfort items, and personal care products that many foster children need when entering a new placement. Imagine being a child who has to leave everything familiar behind and start over with very few personal belongings. A simple backpack filled with thoughtful items can provide comfort, dignity, and hope during a difficult transition.

Nancy Hollenkamp is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Aubrey Rose Foundation, where she has dedicated over two decades to transforming compassion into action for families with critically ill children.

Inspired by the life of her daughter, Aubrey Rose, Nancy and her husband, Jerry, founded the organization in 2001 to honor Aubrey’s legacy by alleviating the financial and emotional burdens families encounter during complex medical journeys. Under Nancy’s leadership, the Foundation has evolved into a trusted, community-driven resource that offers direct financial assistance, scholarships, and uplifting programs that celebrate the courage of children and their families. She oversees the Foundation’s signature initiatives, including family grants, the Challenge Your Heart scholarship program, and major fundraising events such as Let’s Dance for the Heart of It! and Aubrey’s Open. Nancy is known for her ability to blend operational excellence with heartfelt storytelling, ensuring that every supporter feels connected to the mission and the lives they help change.

In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Nancy and Jerry are also the Co-Founders of Writely Sew, Promotional Products and Apparel, a company focused on embroidery, embellishment, and promotional products built on creativity, craftsmanship, and community connection. Meet Shannon Lenz: Online Business Manager, Owner & CEO, Cat & a Teacup, LLC

"From infectious diseases research to clinical trials project management to business operations: I now use my scientific experience and project leadership skills to help businesses run more efficiently behind the scenes. I help business owners get the day-to-day operational and administrative parts of their business organized so everything runs more smoothly. That can include setting up or improving things like client onboarding, planning workflows and timelines, coordinating team communication, and keeping financial organization and bookkeeping on track so less time is spent in the weeds. Many of the people I work with are wedding professionals and other service-based women entrepreneurs who are juggling a lot of moving parts in both business and life.

My role is to step in, bring structure to the behind-the-scenes work, and help think through how the systems, platforms, and processes should be set up so the business is easier to run and maintain over time. Before moving into business operations, I spent over fifteen years in infectious disease research and clinical trials project management.
