The Open is BACK!!!!The CrossFit Open is back, and we’re excited to officially kick off the 2026 Open season at 908 Athletics. The Open will once again run over three weeks starting Thursday, February 26 through Monday, March 16, with one workout released each week. As always, it’s a chance to test yourself, learn something new, and take part in something much bigger than what happens inside our four walls. At 908, we’ve proudly participated in the Open every year since it began in 2011. What started as a simple online competition has grown into a global event that brings together hundreds of thousands of athletes, all doing the same workouts, all pushing in their own way. It’s one of the few times each year where we get to measure progress, celebrate effort, and share the experience together. What Is the Open?The CrossFit Open is a three-week, worldwide competition where one workout is released each week. Athletes complete the workout, submit their scores online, and see how they stack up locally and globally. For most, it’s about personal growth and community. For a few, it’s the first step toward the CrossFit Games. Divisions and Options:The Open includes divisions from ages 14 to 65+, adaptive divisions, and occupational categories. Each week offers Rx’d, scaled, and foundations options, making the Open accessible no matter where you’re starting from. There is truly a version for everyone. Why We Do It:Perspective: You’ll often surprise yourself with what you can do. Community: There’s nothing like cheering each other on through the same challenge. Energy: Classes feel different during the Open, in the best way. Open Schedule at 908 Athletics:This year, we’ll be hosting the Open at both locations on Saturday mornings. The Open workout will be programmed as the Saturday Workout of the Day
Judged heats will begin at 8:15 AM
The 7:00 AM class will be the Open workout. You don’t need to be judged to simply complete the workout unless you want to submit a score. If you want to be judged at 7am, you will need to find your own judge.
If you can’t make it on Saturday, please contact Tim@908athletics.com so we can help you find a time that works for you to complete the workout. Celebrate the Finish:At the end of the final week, we’ll be getting together to celebrate the end of the Open. Details on time and location will be shared soon, but expect something relaxed, social, and well-earned after three challenging weeks. Team Competition:To keep things fun, everyone who registers for the Open will be randomly assigned to a team, each led by one of our coaches. Teams will span all fitness levels and both locations. Expect friendly competition, plenty of encouragement, and some bragging rights along the way. How to Register:Register through the CrossFit Games website and select your home affiliate: We’re looking forward to another great Open season. The Infinity Membership One Membership. Three Gyms. Limited Launch.For a long time, we’ve been asked the same question: “Would you ever offer an unlimited membership across all of your gyms?” Up until now, the answer has been no. But as our community has grown, and as more of you train in different ways, at different times, and in different locations, we’ve started to see a version of this that actually makes sense. So in February, we’re testing something new. HYROX Training at 908: Beta LaunchIf you’ve been paying attention to the endurance and fitness world lately, you’ve probably noticed how big HYROX has become. The growth has been wild, and we know we have a lot of members in our community either training for a race or seriously considering one. With that in mind, we’re excited to announce that we’re beta testing a dedicated HYROX training class at 908 Athletics Berkeley Heights starting Thursday, February 5 This class will follow a structured training template designed to build the engine, durability, and repeatable strength needed to peak for a HYROX race, including the upcoming NYC event (once officially announced). This is a beta test, meaning we’re rolling it out intentionally, gathering feedback, and seeing how it lands. If the response is strong, we’ll look at expanding to Westfield and potentially adding a weekend option as well. If HYROX is on your radar, or you’re just looking for focused endurance-based training with purpose, this class is for you.
