⚽ Ipswich Town Boss: “It Was Barely a Football Match”
Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna did not hold back after Saturday’s scrappy clash, describing it as “barely a football match.” The game, marred by heavy rain and a difficult pitch, saw few chances and little flow, frustrating both players and fans. McKenna praised his squad for digging deep despite the conditions but admitted it was a day more about resilience than quality football. Town remain focused on their upcoming fixtures, with McKenna stressing the importance of bouncing back quickly and keeping momentum in the promotion race.

📺 TV Show Review: I Fought the Law (ITV)🔎 What’s the Story? When Ann Ming discovers her daughter Julie’s body in 1989, her world shatters. Although the killer is quickly identified, loopholes in the law allow him to walk free. Refusing to give up, Ann begins a tireless campaign that will eventually change Britain’s double jeopardy law — ensuring no guilty man can escape justice twice. ✨ The Setup This four-part ITV drama is based on Ann Ming’s memoir For the Love of Julie. It blends the heartbreak of a mother’s loss with the grit of a true fight for reform, showing how one ordinary woman reshaped the justice system. 🎭 The Vibe Raw, determined, and deeply moving. The series avoids sensationalism, keeping its focus on family and resilience. Each episode builds with quiet intensity, offering a powerful mix of personal tragedy and national impact. 🌟 Standout Performances Sheridan Smith is outstanding as Ann Ming — fierce, vulnerable, and unforgettable. Daniel York Loh brings compassion and strength as her husband Charlie. Jack James Ryan is unsettling as Billy Dunlop, a chillingly ordinary presence that lingers long after the credits. 📋 Final Verdict I Fought the Law is one of ITV’s most gripping dramas in years — heartbreaking yet inspiring, with Sheridan Smith at her absolute best. A must-watch for fans of true-crime stories that balance emotion with justice. 📸 Image: Courtesy of ITV

📺 TV Show Review: Karen Pirie (ITV)🔎 What’s the Story?Detective Inspector Karen Pirie (formerly DS) returns, now tackling a chilling cold case from 1984: the disappearance of oil heiress Catriona Grant and her toddler son. Decades later, a newly discovered body linked to the case reignites the investigation — and the media storm that comes with it. ✨ The Setup Adapted from Val McDermid’s A Darker Domain, this three-part ITV drama (each episode runs about 90–120 minutes) builds on the success of series one. Karen and her team — including Jason “Mint” Murray and DS Phil Parhatka — navigate the pressure of police scrutiny, the press, and the victim’s powerful family to uncover the truth. 🎭 The Vibe Smart, atmospheric, and thoroughly gripping. Set between 1984 and the present day, the narrative swings seamlessly between timelines, blending chilling suspense with human drama. Scotland’s locations — from coastal cold scenes to tense flashbacks — enrich the brooding tone and layered storytelling. 🌟 Standout Performances Lauren Lyle steps into Karen’s shoes with poise and conviction; she’s calm, determined, and refreshingly unflawed as a lead detective. Chris Jenks returns as the grounded and witty DC Jason Murray, adding warmth and relatability. James Cosmo brings gravitas as wealth and power personified — the oil magnate Sir Broderick Grant. Julia Brown and Frances Tomelty offer strong support, deepening the Grant family’s emotional stakes. 📋 Final Verdict Karen Pirie season two proves that good crime drama doesn’t need artificial drama. It’s taut, elegantly crafted television — stylish, thoughtful, and full of compelling mystery. A top-tier watch for fans of cold-case thrillers with real depth. 📸 Image: Courtesy of ITV

Camel Foot Raiders Live at Briarbank Brewing Co.
Get set for a rip-roaring night of good-time rock ’n’ roll as Camel Foot Raiders bring Ipswich the musical party it has been waiting for. Born from bassist Darren and his longtime guitarist buddy Toni Vines’ shared ambition, the band’s joyous energy and eclectic flair are legendary across East Anglia. Backed by Toni’s wife Tina on vocals, Martin on acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo (and Guinness in hand), Neil adding guitar, vocals, harmonica, Golden Virginia, and Jack Daniels, and Craig Clark on drums after the early lineup change, this band self-describes as equal parts fun and finesse. They even recorded a cover CD Lazy Days at Gemini Studios, earned airplay, performed gigs as far afield as Germany, and cut a version of Fairytale of New York for a BBC Radio Suffolk charity album. They may have had more lineup twists since, but Camel Foot Raiders remain East Anglia’s firecracker of country-rock and storytelling swagger. Catch them live and feel the noise, the laughter—and maybe the Guinness—flow.
