Overnight Works Begin on Orwell Bridge
Drivers in Ipswich are being advised to plan ahead as overnight closures on the A14 Orwell Bridge begin tonight (Monday 16th June). National Highways will be carrying out essential maintenance work, closing the road from 8pm to 6am each night to ensure the bridge remains safe and traffic keeps moving. Diversions will be clearly signposted, but delays are likely—especially for those travelling late or early. Suffolk Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault on Saturday 7 June, near the One Stop shop on Cambridge Drive. A pedestrian, struck by a fleeing black car, suffered significant injuries and was taken for medical treatment.
