Goodbye Cashiers: Ipswich Station’s Co-op Goes Fully Self-Serve
Shoppers at Ipswich Station will now be greeted by a completely new kind of convenience store—one without a single human cashier. The East of England Co-op has unveiled a fully self-service store at the station, featuring only card and contactless payments, with no option for cash and no manned tills. Despite the change, the retailer is confident that advanced technology and carefully designed security measures will keep the store safe, efficient, and ready to serve busy travellers. 💬 What do you think? Would you feel comfortable shopping in a store with no staff—just cameras and machines? Or do you think removing human cashiers crosses a line? Hit reply and share your opinion. We’ll include some anonymous responses in next week’s issue.
