Dear ones,
This past month has been full of troubling news and of very real impacts to many. There are great losses and great suffering for many that I hold dear. I am taking a moment now, in this moment, to add my prayers for a brighter day.
This weekend is our very first Matriarch Makeover retreat on the Central Coast and the timing feels quite poignant. This simple act of giving 48 hours to oneself, and to a circle of friends and strangers, is much more than it appears. It is a warrior cry of joy, nourished by the hope of our shared humanity, and buoyed by the powerful resources of the land, of song and of ceremony. These moments are defiantly loving, about loving ourselves and each other for all of our amazing and troublesome parts.
Today, as I close, I want to take a moment to share that this beautiful circle of Matriarchs, Matriarchs in the Making, and of the many others that support this circle are part of that bounty of love that I am harvesting this Fall. Thank you.
Please take a moment, when you can, to tend to that warrior cry of joy within you. Sing songs together, feed the People, play silly games, and tend to one another. Or do something else that may invoke a belly laugh or two.
With love and respect,
Maija
