After April’s wild celebration of creative expression, May arrives like a calming breath. The energy settles. The wind slows. The soil warms.
In Vedic Astrology, we now move into Taurus season—governed by Venus (Shukra) and aligned with the Earth element. Taurus is about stability, self-worth, sensual embodiment, and staying grounded in a world that constantly pulls us in a thousand directions.
For me, Taurus is the season of coming home to my body—of remembering that I don’t need to chase value or perform for it. I am valuable. I am worthy. And my presence is enough.
Taurus in Vedic Astrology: The Stabilizer
Taurus is associated with fixed earth—slow, solid, secure. It governs the second house in the chart:
Self-worth
Values and possessions
Material security
Sensory pleasure
A well-balanced Taurus energy helps us:
Feel grounded and calm
Trust in our inherent worth
Enjoy pleasure without excess
Build stability through consistent effort
But when Taurus energy is imbalanced, we may experience:
Stagnation or stubbornness
Attachment to comfort
Over-reliance on material validation
Resistance to necessary change
Tantra teaches us that the Earth element is not about being stuck—it’s about being rooted. When you feel unworthy or unstable, the invitation is to reconnect with your body, your breath, and the ground beneath you.
Tantra & the Earth Element: Worth Through Presence
In Tantra, the first chakra (Muladhara) is the home of survival, safety, and embodiment. It’s the place where the divine becomes physical. And it’s where most of us hold our deepest fears about not being enough.
But the Earth whispers a different story:
You are held. You belong. You are sacred just as you are.
Working with Taurus energy reminds us that self-worth doesn’t come from doing more—it comes from being more present.
Practices to Ground into Worth and Stability
Earthing Ritual – Stand barefoot on the Earth. Feel the weight of your body. Repeat: “I belong here. I am safe here.”
Sensory Awareness Meditation – Slow down and savor a meal, a scent, or a touch. Let yourself fully feel it.
Mantra for Taurus/Venus: “Om Shukraya Namaha” – Chant to cultivate embodied beauty and self-worth.
Muladhara Activation – Focus on your pelvic floor in meditation. Imagine roots growing down from your spine into the Earth.
