Bringing hope and changing the future.

GRACIAS!

We give thanks to the Lord for another successful year helping 200 kids in Tijuana to go to school!

MAKING A DIFFERENCE ...

We are deeply grateful to every one of you for your generous donations, heartfelt prayers, and continued support for our students!

One mom shared her story with tears of joy, as she expressed how she didn’t know how she would manage to purchase everything needed to send her three young boys to school. Another mom opened up about her own educational journey; she had only graduated from the 6th grade but now, thanks to our Grace of Calvary school program, she has two daughters studying in high school.

Backpack day was an absolute joy. Mary Ann captivated the children with the story of Moses parting the Red Sea. The kids acted out the story with such enthusiasm, using wooden blocks and blue fabric to recreate the scene. After the storytelling, the church kids received their new backpacks and enjoyed a fun snack. We then moved to our Fuentes ministry site and repeated the event with the lunch kitchen kids and the tutoring club kids. It’s always one of my favorite days of the year!

Higher Education ...

Our six college students—Ricky, Mabis, Emily, Daira, Lorena, and Monica—are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to continue their education. They are pursuing diverse fields of study, including medicine, criminology, accounting, dental care, graphic design, and English, among others! In addition to these college students, we have seven more students in high school, as well as numerous others in elementary and junior high school.

School shoes for kids ...

Shoe clinic day is always a highlight. “Jalisco Zapateria” brings an array of shoes from Rosarito, transforming the church into a bustling shoe store for a few hours. The excitement is felt as the students try on their black leather shoes, which are a requirement for attending school.

Bringing hope...

UNIFORM DAY

Have you ever gone shopping with 25 kids and their moms? It’s quite an experience and a true blessing to provide uniforms for these families. In Mexico, students cannot attend school without the proper uniform, shoes, backpack, and supplies. A factory worker now earns around $4.00 an hour for a 45-hour work week, while gasoline costs about $0.50 more per gallon than in San Diego. Many people don’t even have cars. We minister in one of the poorest areas of Tijuana, making it even more crucial to support these students.

The need ....

Can you imagine not being able to educate your kids? Currently, we have eight children in our lunch program who are not attending school and another eight kids in our tutoring club who do not attend any school. (Homeschool is not available) We hope to integrate the lunch program kids into our tutoring club and will be meeting with their parents to discuss this. Mary Ann Nuñez has graciously volunteered to serve as the Director of our education centers for at least the next year, during which time she will train local leaders to efficiently run these clubs, known as Mi Escuela (my school). The needs are great, and the workers are few.

Prayer requests ...

1. Healing for Pastor Daniel, who has been suffering from severe back and sciatic problems, leaving him partially disabled for the past six weeks.

2. For Mary Ann’s leadership, wisdom, and personal ministry support. She is also serving in youth ministry alongside her husband, Javier, in addition to her role at the education centers.

3. For ministry teams from the U.S. to come and serve, hosting small events for the children and their families.

4. For the Lord’s continued provision for the ministry. Expenses are increasing, and if you already support this ministry, THANK YOU so much! If you would consider increasing your gift I would love to get together and share more - just send me a message.

5. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE ANAYA FAMILY’S VISA APPOINTMENT with the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana on September 17th. They have been waiting for this appointment for over 18 months. If approved, they will be able to visit supporting churches with us in California!

6. For the kids who are not in school to have a chance to study.

We give thanks to God always for all of you, continually mentioning you in our prayers. We give all glory to God for the opportunity to serve in Tijuana, share the gospel, and bless those whom the Lord brings into our lives.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9

To Jesus be the glory and honor!
