Book Fair & Coin Drive

Dear Families,

Get your pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters ready—it’s time for our Coin Drive! From October 26-30, Elementary students will be collecting change to support some very special projects. Then, the fun keeps rolling into our Book Fair, November 2-5!

Every coin we collect will help us put books in the hands of families from Dekalb County through Fortify Home in Auburn—which provides transitional housing for families facing homelessness or housing instability in DeKalb County—AND also give our classroom teachers some books for their classroom libraries!

Your small change can make a BIG difference! Students can bring in coins, dollars, or checks (made payable to Lakewood Park Christian School) throughout the week.

And of course, there are prizes!

If we raise $2,500 or more, Elementary students will get a Pajama Day, and the top class will win a party of their choice.

But that’s not all—if we reach $3,000 or more, the whole school will gather for a special assembly where Mrs. Babich, Mrs. Buss and Mrs. Gaines will each be silly stringed! The honor of spraying goes to the top-earning classes.

Thank you for joining us in supporting Fortify Home and making reading even more exciting in our classrooms. Together, we can turn pocket change into a lasting impact!

Thank you for partnering with our school library!

LPCS AFTERCARE

The Lakewood Park Aftercare program offers after school care for our K-6th grade students. Aftercare is a service provided by Lakewood Park Christian School for families who are unable to pick-up students during the dismissal time frame. Students will be supervised by LPCS staff, and activities will be both inside and outside (weather permitting) and include structured and unstructured play time. Care begins at 3:15pm on normal dismissal days and continues until 6:00pm. There is no separate registration for Aftercare. Any K-6th grade students who are in the building after dismissal will be signed into Aftercare, and charges will be applied to their FACTS account. The cost of Aftercare is $5.00 per child/per hour. A charge of $1 per minute per family will be applied when students are not picked up by 6:00pm. Charges will be facilitated through FACTS Tuition management on the 10th of each month.

  • Mondays: School begins at 8:30 a.m. Students are picked up by their teacher at 8:25 a.m. and walk to class together.

  • Tuesdays–Fridays: School begins at 7:50 a.m. Students are picked up by their teacher at 7:45 a.m.

  • Cafeteria: Opens at 7:00 a.m. each school day.

  • Late Arrival: If you arrive at or after the official start time, please accompany your child to the Main Office to sign them in before they head to class.

Reporting Absences:

School attendance is vital to student success. However, we understand that illnesses and other family events happen. To report an absence please:

  • Email: attendance@lakewoodpark.org

  • Call the Main Office: 260-925-1393

  • Submit any required documentation or doctor's notes when applicable.

DRESS CODE AND BELONGINGS:

  • K–4th grade students must wear shirts with sleeves and shoes with backs. Shorts must also be at least finger tip length or longer. When temperatures are predicted to be 65 degrees or higher, shorts are permitted.

  • We also encourage you to label backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles, jackets, and other personal belongings to help ensure lost items find their way back home.

CARLINE:

  • K-4 dismissal begins at 2:50 along the north side of the building. Carline tags are required for pick-up. Please display your carline number visibly in your window. K-1 students exit from the doors furthest west and 2-4 students exit from the cafeteria doors. Parents should remain in their vehicle and follow the carline to continue pulling up until directed to stop. Students are called from their classes and will exit the building when their carline number is called. If you prefer, you may park and walk up to the grassy median with your carline number. Families may not copy or write down numbers. Adults without a proper tag will be directed to pick-up their student at the Main Office. Replacement or additional tags are $1 and will be made after payment has been received. Families should save their carline tags each school year.

  • 5-12 dismissal begins at 3:10. If you have older student siblings and prefer to pick up only once, elementary students can be taken to the Worship Center holding area to be picked up by older siblings. Older siblings must come to pick up younger students in the Worship Center. These students will all be picked up beginning at 3:10 at the east gym doors.

  • Please use the inside lane (red) to drop off and pick up elementary (K-4th grade) students outside the cafeteria doors. Do not use the elementary lane to stop and drop off or pick up students at the east gym doors.
