School Year NtKsStart & End Times:Mondays: Morning Release bell rings at 8:20; School starts at 8:30 Tuesdays-Fridays: Morning Release bell rings at 7:40; School starts at 7:50 High school students are to stay in the East Hallways until the morning release bell rings to allow them to go to their lockers.
Drop-off and Pick-up (5th-12th): (see map below)Families dropping off students in grades 5-12 (younger siblings may walk with older siblings from this carline) should follow the Blue Route (see below). Families dropping off students in grades K-4 should use the Red Route. Students must use the designated cross walks and follow directions of staff. Parents should not park and exit their vehicles in carline; Instead, students will exit the car with their belongings and enter the building. Student parking is located in the back of the East Lot (see below). Please be mindful for the one-way parking lanes in our lots. For grades 5-12 afternoon pick up, parents should follow the Blue Route and park in the East Lot and wait for their student to find them in the parking lot. If you choose to drive through the Blue Route carline, and your student has not yet found you, you may need to go around the boulevard again. For the safety of our kids, please do not use cell phones while navigating our parking lots.
Reporting Absences:On-time arrival to both school and to class periods is a vital part of a student's academic success. However, we understand that illnesses and other unexpected family events happen. In case of needing to report an absence, please: Email our Registrar at attendance@lakewoodpark.org or call the Main Office and enter the Registrar's extention (260-925-1393 x1098). Submit any needed documentation or doctor's notes. Have students look at Google Classrooms and check-in with their teachers to ensure all school work, including tests & quizzes, are made-up and submitted.

Student Drivers:Students must fill out a Driver Registration form (at the Main Office or during Back to School Night) and obtain a parking permit to display in the vehicle. Student parking permits cost $5 A student will receive at least two written warnings before driving privileges are revoked for the day/week/month/semester, etc.
Students who drive elementary students to school must assume responsibility for assisting them into the building while using designated crosswalks. Violators of campus speed limits may lose the privilege of driving to and from school at an administrator's/SRO's discretion. Any misconduct or failure to obey staff on duty directing traffic before or after school may result in the suspension of driving privileges. Student drivers are required to be insured and understand that parents/guardians bear any liability due to an accident that is incurred by the student while operating a vehicle on the Lakewood campus. The school is not responsible for vehicle damage that occurs while on campus or at any other school-sponsored event.
Dress Code Summary (9th-12th):Shoes must be worn at all times. Outdoor jackets and coats, hats, hoods, sunglasses, and bandanas are not to be worn inside the school building during school hours. The styling of the hair shall reflect moderation in respect to current trends. Unnaturally colored hair is not permitted. Tattoos must be covered at all times during the school day. Tight fitting or sheer/see-through garments or clothes are not permitted. Tops: Collared shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts, t-shirts, button-down shirts are all acceptable. Tops which expose underclothing such as bralettes, bra straps, or other similar garments are not acceptable. Tops with open backs, open shoulders should not be worn. Cap sleeves are permitted. Tops with scoop/’V’/wide/low necklines should not be worn, unless accompanied with a cami/tanktop that makes the neckline appropriate for the school setting. Tops that expose the midriff when standing or sitting are not permitted. If the midriff is visible when arms are raised, please accompany the top with a cami or tanktop. Tops should meet the waistband of the bottoms while sitting and standing. Sleeveless tops or dresses can be worn over a top with sleeves or worn under a sweater or jacket with sleeves.
Bottoms: Jeans, dress pants, khakis, joggers (made of non-athletic/non-sweatpant material) are all acceptable. Jeans that are designed with holes can be worn as long as: No open holes, rips, or tears are above the knee, unless the opening is completely patched and/or leggings are worn underneath. The number and size of holes, rips, or tears should be modest, and will be prohibited at the discretion of the administrator. For safety purposes, no excessive fraying or long material is permitted around the bottom of clothing. Non-athletic shorts are permitted during 1st & 4th quarters. Shorts must be modest in length, having a minimum of a 6” inseam. If shorts are made of quick-dry-type material, they should have belt loops and back pockets (ie. golf shorts). The principal’s/dean’s discretion will be the determining factor. Girls only: Dresses or skirts must reach the knee if worn without leggings. Leggings/jeggings can only be worn under a skirt or dress that is no more than 4” above the knee. Long shirts do not count as a dress or skirt.
Parent Partnership Personal Device Policy:Cell phones & personal devices are permitted inside the school, but they must remain in lockers, powered off during the school day (7:40-3:10). High School students may access their personal devices before the 7:40 bell and after school, after 3:10. If a student’s cell phone or smart device (including smart watch or other text-able device) is seen or heard during the school day, it is a violation of school’s policy. The student will receive a referral, and the reporting staff member will have the phone or device taken to the Office to be picked up by a parent at the end of the day. In the case that a parent cannot pick up the device at the end of the day, the student will need to turn in his/her device for the duration of the next school day. The first offense will result in a verbal warning; second a lunch detention; third and beyond a Friday Night School or as determined by administration.
Backpacks: Backpacks are permitted in the school building, but must be stored in a students' locker during the school day. Students with an school-issued accommodation for use of a backpack may carry a clear backpack only. |
