As National Safety Month comes to a close, we want to pause with respect, gratitude, and a renewed sense of responsibility.

For those who serve in the field, safety is not just a workplace topic. It is not a slogan, a checklist, or a month on the calendar. It is part of the work because the work carries real risk. |
Across Michigan and beyond, recent tragedies have reminded us that public service work often happens in places most people pass through without thinking twice: along highways, in work zones, near energized lines, beside heavy equipment, in storms, in traffic, and in unpredictable conditions.
Behind every loss is more than a headline. There is a family, a crew, a department, a community, and a life that mattered. At Alpha Omega Utility Services, we do not take that lightly.
Whether you are a lineworker, road worker, municipal employee, utility crew member, contractor, mower operator, trainer, supervisor, or first responder, your work matters. So does your safety.
As we move beyond Safety Month, our encouragement is simple

Respect the hazards around you. |

Speak up when something feels wrong. |

Watch out for the person beside you. |

Remember that going home safely is the goal every single day. |

The public has a role, too When you see flashing lights, cones, utility trucks, road crews, or workers near the roadway, slow down. Move over when possible. Put the phone down. Give them room to do their work and return home to the people who love them. |
Safety Month may be ending, but the responsibility continues.
To every person who serves in the field and to every family who waits for them to come home: we see you, we value you, and we remain committed to building a culture where safety is never assumed and every life is treated as worth protecting.
