What is your occupation?

I've been a registered nurse for 11 years and am currently working in the wound clinic at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

Hobbies/Interests?

I love outdoor activities such as kayaking, fishing, camping, going to the beach, reading more lately, and of course hanging out with my husband, daughter, and our dog.

Tell CFD something we don't know about you.

I lived in Tampa, FL for 10 years. I tried out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneer Cheerleaders and made it to the 2nd round but that was it. Even though I didn't get picked it was a fun experience and a cool thing to say that I did and tried.

When did you start Crossfitting?

I had done the gym thing then did Barre in downtown New Bedford for a while but wanted something more, especially with weights. I had 2 friends on Facebook that I saw did Crossfit. 1 of them did it while she was pregnant and that intrigued me even more. I reached out to 2 Crossfit gyms and landed at CFD>

What do you like most about CFD?

The atmosphere and the camaraderie. I get a great workout every class including those days you just don't feel like going. I've made some amazing friends that feel like family since being at CFD.

What was your 1st CrossFit workout?

I don't remember it but per SugarWOD it was strict pull-ups then "The Black Pear" - AMRAP 20 5 pull-ups, 10 kettlebell swings, 15 abmat sit-ups, and 20 double unders. I do remember a few days after that was Fran and then going back the following morning for a Saturday workout haha.

Favorite workout/movement?

Deadlifts, back/front squats, cleans, push jerks. I enjoy rig movements like pull-ups/T2B, even though I am still working on getting better at those.

Least favorite workout/movement?

Overhead squats, thrusters, burpees, bike

Any advice you would give to the newbies?

Keep showing up! Don't compare yourself to others in the gym (evn though it's hard with all of our amazing athletes) because everyone had a time when they were new and first started. It is extremely encouraging that everyone at CFD is so welcoming and helpful. At first you'll have complete strangers cheering you on to finish your movement/workout but soon enough you'll become part of the family.

. My occupation is in construction (house remodeling). 2 I love going to Home Depot lol (it's my place to de-stress 3. There are warm-up exercises I didn't know in English, and I had to watch my teammates to learn them. (Sorry, coaches that's a lot of words to write down.) 4. I started in 2018, but I haven't been consistent from 2021 until now. 5. They made me feel like family, and I appreciated the effort the coaches made to help me understand them (because my English is basic). 6. My introduction to CrossFit was with FRAN, with a weight of 75 lbs and strict pull-ups 7. Wow! In many ways, in unimaginable ways, both physically and mentally. And of course, with the hand of God 8. Snatch, ring muscle up, and hand stand push ups 9. I don’t like deadlift, and run 10. Listen to your coaches, progress through movements that are difficult for you, and stretch after every workout. I am an apprentice electrician. Currently, I am in my second year of the 4-year apprenticeship, and work for MACO Electric out of Fairhaven, MA.

Hobbies/Interests?

Other than Crossfit, I am into golf, fishing, playing electric guitar and learning new trades on the side like woodworking/welding/concrete. Also, I’ve played hockey and baseball my whole life, which will always be apart of who I am.

Tell CFD something we don't know about you.

My mother ‘forced’ me to go to at least one class per week for a couple months, although I was pretty consistently lifting in my garage. Once per week turned into twice per week, twice into three times, and eventually I was going so often that I switched to a full membership.

When did you start Crossfitting?

I first went to a couple classes here and there in 2023 and 2024 with my mother, but I started going to CFD consistently right after the 2025 Open, which is what really got me into it.

What do you like most about CFD?

I like how CFD revolves around the idea of putting in the work, especially when you don't feel like it and that no matter how good you are, you have to “check your ego at the door”. Also, everyone here pushes you to be your best even when you might not have your best on a given day.

What was your 1st CrossFit workout?

I don’t remember my very first workout but the first one I have logged in Sugarwod was 1000m row, 400m run, 90 KB swings, 2 wall walks for time.

In what ways has CrossFit changed your life?

After I stopped playing hockey/baseball when I graduated high school, I was looking for something to replace that competitive aspect of my life. I have always been into weightlifing so Crossfit was perfect to fill that gap.

Crossfit has also given me something to look forward to after work, as in my opinion a bad day at the gym is better than not going at all.

Favorite workout/movement?

My favorite movements are rowing, power cleans, split jerks and running.

Least favorite workout/movement?

My least favorite movement has to be wall walks or burpees.

Any advice you would give to the newbies?

The best advice I would give to newbies is to not be afraid to look completely clueless when trying a new movement. I don’t want to think about what I looked like trying kip swings or handstands for the first few times.

What is your occupation?

I'm a high school English teacher at Dartmouth High School.

How long have you been doing Crossfit?

January 2026 was my first month and I'm hooked!

What brought you to CFD?

My good friend Eric Griva convinced me it was time to stop lifting weights on my own and do something a little more fun with a little more purpose and function. I have a one-year-old son, so I decided he was right and it was time to take things up a notch. I love the community here already.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I love to travel, usually with my wife. We are on a goal to hit all 50 states, and are headed to Michigan this summer. I'm also big into movies, books, and watching sports, most notably the Patriots and UNC basketball.

What's something unique about you that most people don't know?

I'm 3/4 of the way done with my doctorate degree in English Education, am a cancer survivor, and ran the New York City Marathon a few years ago. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
