Michael WeinbergWhat is your occupation? I am a Contract Administrator for the Department of Defense.
Hobbies/Interests?
My hobbies/interests include playing with my puppy Lexi, spending time with my wife, watching sports, and pretty much doing anything outdoors, i.e. beach, hiking, kayaking.
Tell CFD something we don't know about you.
CFD does not know that for my 13th birthday, I got to fly a Cessna 172R airplane with a pilot as part of a discovery flight, and did the take off by myself. Growing up in New York City, I took the city bus by myself at age 11 and the subway by myself at age 13 to get to school. Nowadays, I do not want to even do that, nor recommend that to anyone. My first week of high school was September 11th, 2001, and my high school was 85% overcrowded, so I had a staggered schedule, whereby freshmen started school at 11:00A.M. and seniors started at 7:00A.M. Therefore, I was home watching Saved By the Bell or something before school started and the television went out, so I called my father, who was already at work and told him, and he said turn to CBS (it was the only local station at the time with a tower located on the Empire State Building instead of the World Trade Center). I went outside after watching the news, saw the black smoke in the sky, continued on my way to school, and the rest is history. When did you start Crossfitting?
I started Crossfitting 5 years ago on August 10th, 2020, as a way to get in shape for my wedding. What do you like most about CFD?
It sounds cheesy, but the people obviously. Since moving to a new area and not knowing many people was a challenge at first, CFD has provided me with friends and connections.

What was your 1st CrossFit workout?
My first CrossFit Workout was alternating dumbbell snatches, overhead dumbbell front lunges, and rowing; the strength was hang squat snatches. Now looking back at that, that was not so bad. In what ways has CrossFit changed your life?
CrossFit has changed my life by assisting me to stay in better shape with weight loss and exercise. As an adult who participated in athletics for all my youth, I found it difficult to strive for new goals, but CrossFit has given me people to work out with and find new challenges together, such as Spartan Races and 5Ks. Favorite workout/movement?
My favorite workout/movement is anything that can be done outdoors, such as sled pulls/drags and tire flips, but indoors I enjoy deadlifts. Least favorite workout/movement?
My least favorite workout/movement used to be the bike, burpees, running, and barbell snatches, but now they have grown on me somewhat, so I would say Turkish getups. Any advice you would give to the newbies?
My advice to the newbies is corny, but almost everything really is scalable, so try notto compete as much with others, but with yourself, and the rest will come in time.

Tell CFD something we don't know about you.
In my early twenties, I volunteered at a center that cared for children with cancer. That experience was truly transformative and helped me grow as a person, developing empathy, compassion, and gratitude. Lessons I carry with me for life. When did you start Crossfitting?
I did CF in Brazil from 2013 to 2019 and started again in 2023 here in USA. What do you like most about CFD?
Everything is amazing ...coaches, Wods and the community. Also being able to bring my son with me as a single mother helps me so much

What was your 1st CrossFit workout?
In 2023 it was 100 burpee box jump over I guess. In what ways has CrossFit changed your life?
I love CrossFit for the opportunity to challenge both our body and mind, pushing them to their limits and beyond. Favorite workout/movement?
Overhead squat. Least favorite workout/movement?
All the movements on the pull up bar. Any advice you would give to the newbies?
Listen to your coach, go at your own pace and don't compare yourself to others. Everyone was a beginner once!

David Protein Bars
David's protein blend, consisting of Milk Protein Isolate, Collagen, Whey Protein Concentrate, and Egg White, provides a complete amino acid profile and scores a perfect 1.0 PDCAAS, making it ideal for all bodily functions, including beauty and muscle building.
The binding system in David forms what would otherwise be protein powder into a bar consistency. In addition to binding, some of these ingredients provide prebiotic gut health benefits. Most importantly, David’s binding system, primarily consisting of Maltitol and Allulose limits caloric impact and blood sugar responses.
To help minimize calories from fat, David utilizes a modified plant fat called EPG along with small amounts of traditional fats like coconut oil, cocoa butter, and palm kernel oil (in certain flavors) to achieve the mouthfeel and texture of fat without the typical caloric load. For more information on how EPG helps David minimize caloric impact, see the video explanation of the fat system from our Chief Science Officer Dr. Peter Attia.
The David Flavor System is what gives our bars their delicious taste and sweetness with no calories and negligible impact on blood glucose levels. Key components of the flavor system are cocoa powder, natural and artificial flavors, salt, sucralose, and acesulfame potassium. Natural colors, like carmine and pea flower, are added to some of our flavored bars for visual appeal.

Meet Andrew Howayek!
What is your occupation?
I’m a transactional attorney. I specialize in debt and equity financing, but I also negotiate commercial leases and work on other types of business transactions. How long have you been doing Crossfit? I started in November 2024. What brought you to CFD? A friend recommended it to me! It's kicked my butt for the past 9 months but the small wins and improvements keep me coming back for more. The coaches and community are great, and I love the competitiveness (even if I'm only competing with myself). What are your hobbies and interests? Snowboarding, tennis, boating, hiking, cooking. What's something unique about you that most people don't know? I've hit 60mph on a snowboard. I'm also a "Disney adult" lol
