Kevin McNameeWhat is your occupation? I’m an insurance agent. Exciting, I know. I do it all - personal to business. HMU for a quote!
Hobbies/Interests?
I’m an amateur foodie. I’ll travel near or far to try a one-of-kind meal or drink. I’m a car enthusiast. I have two dogs - they are my children. I love music. You’ll usually find me twerking upside down somewhere after too many drinks. I’m in a bowling league. Post-pandemic, I’ve been bitten by the travel bug. My partner Dan & I have been traveling a lot the past few years and I can’t get enough.
Tell CFD something we don't know about you.
I’m sort of a jack-of-all-trades. I firmly believe if you don’t use your mind and/or body, they’ll turn to mush, so I’ve dabbled in a variety of things aside from my insurance work. I was a bartender for 12 years - I finally retired from that last summer. I have my Bachelor’s in graphic design so you’ll occasionally find me working on some projects here and there. I can whip up a mean menu design or pump out some Cricut t-shirts. I’m a notary. I have my CF-L1 and was coaching elsewhere in 2022 prior to joining CFD. When did you start Crossfitting?
March 2018 What do you like most about CFD?
I like the community and encouragement I see when I’m here. It’s nice to see how excited members get for others when they accomplish something new or something they’ve been working on. It could be small to some, or a big deal to others - either way, it’s celebrated. It’s always fun to see everyone screaming for each other in competitions as well.

What was your 1st CrossFit workout?
I definitely cannot recall the details of the workout, but it was a memorable experience for sure. Do you have a minute for my story? For my first class at my first CF box, I walked in and there was a full scale production going on. Like multiple cameramen, boom mics, and lighting. I was mortified. The owner of this particular box was being featured in a short film for this kind of like CrossFit rag-to-riches story. And of course that was my first class - always my luck. So all I can tell you is that there is a video of me on YouTube somewhere being pretend-coached through some push-ups, and I’m still embarrassed about it. In what ways has CrossFit changed your life?
Significantly. I feel like much of my life revolves around it at this point. I always plan my days around being able to make it to CFD. It’s a great stress relief for me. I try to make healthier decisions outside of the gym so that I can do better in the gym. If I miss more than two days in a row, I get a little crazy. I always enjoyed exercise prior to CrossFit, but I feel like I’ve really focused on getting stronger since becoming part of the CF community. Favorite workout/movement?
Lifts, obvi. Cleans, Squats, Deadlifts, Bench Press. Also like wall balls, rowing, box jumps. Least favorite workout/movement?
Wall walks, double-unders. I LOATHE ring dips. Any advice you would give to the newbies?
I know it’s hard, but don’t be intimidated. You’ll see crazy good athletes doing really difficult things, but don’t let that deter you. Everything is scalable, and everyone has different abilities and needs. Some people go there just to move, some people go there because they’re a competitive athlete. Don’t compare yourself to everyone else. Compare yourself to what you did yesterday and try to get better. Comparison is the thief of joy.
Also, don’t be scared of me. I have professional RBF and I can’t afford plastic surgery to fix it. I swear I’m not actually scary.

Eric GrivaWhat is your occupation?I am the Quality Control Manager for Eastern Fisheries. I have a small 4 person team that tests seafood all day. Everything we buy or sell goes through our lab.
Hobbies/Interests?
Nowadays….crossfit pretty much. I play a lot of golf in season. I sit at the beach a lot in the summer. I read. I watch sports.
Tell CFD something we don't know about you.
I haven’t had any alcohol in over 5 years. Also my last name is supposed to be Howell. When did you start Crossfitting?
My first class was July 19th last year. (I just looked it up) I did an intro with Justin on a Sunday morning and saw people handstand walking a week before though. That almost scared me away. What do you like most about CFD?
The community. I spent my whole life in gyms where everyone has headphones on and nobody talks to each other. It took some getting used to but this is much better. Nobody gives you a high five for an awesome dumbbell curl at Healthtrax. Also, I look forward to working out. Going to the gym was always a chore and now I am mad when I force myself to take a rest day.

What was your 1st CrossFit workout?
(Like I said, I just looked it up) 7x3 Power Cleans - I didn’t log the weight but I am sure it wasn’t much. & 4 Rounds for Time 10 deadlifts (I did 125lb) 30 wall balls (I used a 10) In what ways has CrossFit changed your life?
My fitness for one. I have never been in the shape that I am in today. I also find myself slightly more outgoing. I have spoken to more people at Crossfit in 8 months than the previous 13 years at commercial gyms combined. Favorite workout/movement?
Anything body weight or whatever new trick I can learn. Oly & Gymnastics on Sunday’s too. I’ve learnt a lot in those classes. Least favorite workout/movement?
The bike………and thrusters. Any advice you would give to the newbies?
Just keep coming.

Meet Bobby RodriguesWhat is your occupation?I work at Dartmouth Building Supply as an Inside Sales Coordinator. I’m responsible for coordinating orders to be dropped off at customers houses & commercial jobs, I do quotes on lumber, doors, windows, siding, etc.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?I’ve been doing CrossFit now for about 2.5 almost 3 months.
What brought you to CFD?I was feeling over weight, unhealthy, trouble walking up the stairs, out of breathe, and just not happy with myself.
What are your hobbies and interests? My love for woodworking is my true passion. I love working with my hands and just challenging my skills.
What’s something unique about you that most people don’t know?Lol. Im not really sure anything about me is really unique. Well I guess there is one thing. I really love to sing karaoke on a competitive level. So I call my truck my own mobile studio. Im constantly picking songs and singing them over and over while I drive and picturing myself on stage giving the performance of a lifetime. lol. If that’s not unique then I don’t know what is.
