Teresa Spencer LevesqueWhat is your Occupation? Adapted Physical Education Teacher/Physical Therapist Assistant
Hobbies/Interests Besides CrossFit, I enjoy traveling, kayaking, bargain hunting, anything horror/Halloween themed, spending time with family/friends and of course cats Tell CFD something we don’t know about you. I was a gymnast starting at the age of nine, went onto club teams and then competed in college. I also have a slight (LOL) obsession with cats. Although I have five of my own, I enjoy traveling to cat shows (yes, it’s a thing!) to watch the competitions, meet the breeders and find out which cat gets best in show. When did you start Crossfitting? I starting back in April 2019 when a friend and I signed up for the 6 week challenge. Although I really enjoyed the challenge, I didn’t sign up for classes for 7 months….so glad I decided to go back to join. What do you like most about CFD? I really can’t pinpoint that to one thing. I enjoy the community of people, I have met some amazing athletes/friends. I really like having a coach during class , something I never experienced at other gyms. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable in what they do, they are very patient, kind and genuinely want to help everyone improve their mental and physical fitness. I also enjoy the programming of movements, the variety of skills make classes very interesting.

What was your 1st CrossFit workout? Not sure what the workout was, but I do remember doing lots of burpees, yikes. I have grown to like them, surprisingly!! In what ways has CrossFit changed your life? The health benefits have been amazing. I truly believe in preventative care especially as I get older. Heart disease and Alzheimer’s are two of the most prominent diseases that are most common in my close relatives, so anything I can do to decrease the chances of illness are very important to me. CrossFit helps to keep my cholesterol and blood pressure numbers down. Favorite Workout/movement I like Annie, Helen, Cindy/anytime I can do pull-ups, rowing, sit-ups and burpees( depending on how many) Least Favorite Workout/movement I dislike most barbell movements, although I have grown to appreciate them a little. Any advice you would give to newbies? Enjoy the journey. Take time to be thankful that we get to do this. Listen to the coaches, they are a wealth of knowledge and experience, they are there to help you improve. Get to know the other athletes at the gym, they are also very helpful and knowledgeable.

Richard SullivanWhat is your Occupation? Correctional Officer at Old Colony Correctional Center
What are your hobbies/interests? Spending time with my daughter Charlotte. But besides that, cooking and baking. I love BBQ and I am really eager about summer.
Tell CFD something we don’t know about you? I was featured on Phatmon Gourmet when I was the head chef at the Cask and Pig.
When did you start Crossfitting? 2018 at Whaling City Crossfit.
What do you like most about CFD? The coaches are the best. They all have their own personalities and find different ways to push you. Like Steve being blunty honest, haha, or Rob yelling at me, lol..

What was your 1st CrossFit workout? I wanna say it was a combination of lunges, side planks, and burpees..
In what ways has CrossFit changed your life? Confidence and the ability to find yourself in a tough situation and be able to push through to the end.
Favorite Workout/movement? Any cleans with a rowing combination.
Least Favorite Workout/movement? Burpees and apparently, my body doesn't agree with deadlifts, haha
Any advice you would give to newbies? Stay consistent. And don't be afraid to try something or scale it. We're all here just to better ourselves. Unless there are burpees involved, in which case, skip that class, hahah
