Councilman Stephens Just got back from the ceremonial groundbreaking of Fire station 3 & PWFD Headquarters, off Highway 30 in what will be Anchor Park. This was a great and historic day for Chief Moore, members of the PWFD, Steve Davis, our City Staff and our city. This is yet another investment in our critical infrastructure. For far too long and way too many ways, our city has invested in our infrastructure. That is beginning to change within the city and especially on the North side of Port Wentworth. When completed, the Fire Station/Headquarters will be the first on the North side of town and will aide in the growth of our city. As our city continues to grow and thrive we will need additional facilities like this to better serve our citizens. Some of the benefits this new station will provide markedly improved response times for fire/paramedics, (given the circumstances, this could literally mean life or death), lower homeowners insurance rates for those close to the station and greater peace of mind for our citizenry. There are several more projects in our pipeline that will improve the quality of life for all of Port Wentworth.
