What's New in Port Wentworth!

Updates from the

Port Wentworth City Council

Councilwoman ArtLise Alston-Cone

Happy February Citizens of Port Wentworth! What a year it has been already since taking office in November 2023, as I have immersed myself in Council business, as one of the newest members of Council.   Just since taking office, I have voted on several items that will benefit the citizens of Port Wentworth for many years to come, including the historic development agreement between the City and the Savannah Ghost Pirates, which continues to set the stage for the Summer 2025 opening of the $30 million dollar Ghost Pirates Training Facility (name forthcoming), as well as the first phase of amenities, including soccer fields, amphitheater and the newest $8 million dollar fire station, located at the Highway 30 entrance to the park!

The City is investing approximately $50 million dollars alone in the new recreation park!  With the opening of our newest medical facility, Interstate Health, and our newest sit-down full-service restaurant, Georgia Comfort Kitchen, the city continues to shine in the Savannah-metro region and beyond.  As we prepare to set the city’s priorities for 2025, along with our budget, I welcome input from our citizens and look forward to hearing from you, as we continue to ensure visitors, citizens and businesses are choosing Port Wentworth, to live, experience and thrive!  Please do not hesitate to reach me at aalstoncone@portwentworthga.gov.
