ALL STAR COMP CHEER UPDATE

Welcome back Comp Cheer Families! We've hit the ground running with our Cheer Teams and we cannot wait for an amazing year with them!

With a new year also brings some new faces to our Cheer Teams, we are so excited to welcome some new dancers and warmly welcome them into our DS Family 💜✨

We wanted to touch base with a few reminders and some exciting things coming up, please see all info below!

ALL STAR COMP CHEER

At Dance Sensations, we have high standards for our competition team members, particularly in areas like attendance, behaviour, and embodying our core values.

Cheer is a team effort, and it's crucial that every member is fully committed to the group both in attendance and the way we participate. In Cheer, with stunt groups it's imperative that all athletes are in attendance to safely rehearse, with a member absent from a stunt group it means that stunt group cannot rehearse safely. We believe in giving your best all of the time, lifting one another up, respecting our teachers and each other, celebrating progress, and fostering a sense of community where support is always given freely; whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or a shared moment of growth. Our culture at DS is what makes us special and we are so lucky to have so many amazing students a part of our DS Family!

UNIFORM

As representatives of Dance Sensations competitive teams, we expect that our students uphold the full DS uniform values in every lesson, and all classes. We value uniform as it gives our dancers a sense of belonging, removes brand comparison and provides comfortable and appropriate class attire!

A reminder that dancers must wear full DS Uniform to all classes. Further information in regards to appropriate shoes will be outlined in the Comp Cheer Handbook to come that will be explained in detail at the Connect Night.

ALL STAR COMP CHEER CONNECT INFO NIGHT

We are so excited to invite all Comp Cheer Parents to our Comp Cheer Connect Event on Fri 20th March at 5pm. It is required that all parents attend and this event is a great opportunity to:

• come together to meet the team and other families of your Comp Cheer team

• chat with our coaches and discuss all things classes

• receive competition dates

• discuss expectations

• discuss uniforms + makeup

• answer any of your questions!

Please note: This event is an information session for parents and carers, we request dancers aren't brought along to the event.

ALL STAR COMP CHEER COMMUNICATION

At Dance Sensations we use BAND APP for all class and Comp Cheer communication. Band allows you the opportunity to discuss Comp Cheer related matters with the team, and where required you can have a private message chat with the teacher if it is a matter that cannot be discussed in the class forum. We encourage you to reach out if you have any questions at all, any time!

From our experience we have found this to be the best communication platform as it allows an inclusive space for all, especially those parents who choose not to use social media, and ensures that the forum is linked with the Dance Sensations team to ensure accuracy of information. As a result we strongly discourage the use of private messaging "Comp Cheer" team groups on social media for this reason. In line with our social media policy we also discourage parents/students from becoming ‘friends’ or ‘followers’ on Social Media with teachers or staff unless there is an existing relationship. We ask that in regards to all Comp Cheer related communication you please join BAND APP. Any enquiries in relation to your dancers enrolment or accounts are to be emailed through to our admin team on info@dancesensations.com.au
