Hello {{contact.first_name}},
A recent Fast Company article said something that stopped me in my tracks:
“The [career] ladder was never built to hold the weight of multiple roles and ambitions.”
And I can’t stop thinking about it, because it’s so true.
So many of the brilliant professionals I work with have built their careers in the margins:
👉 Between caregiving and late-night work blocks
👉 After stepping back to start over
👉 While shifting roles (again) to keep life working
They’ve patched together careers like quilts, resourceful, resilient, and real.
And still, I hear the same doubts:
“I should be further along.”
“My path looks too messy.”
“I’m behind.”
But here’s the truth:
Your pauses and pivots? That’s not what’s holding you back.
What holds you back is the belief that only a linear path is a valid one.
It’s not.
The workplace is finally starting to wake up to what multi-hyphenate leaders have known all along:
🌀 Nonlinear paths build adaptability
🌀 Shifting gears builds emotional intelligence
🌀 Reinventing yourself builds courage and creativity
And these are the very leadership muscles we need most right now.
So let’s stop apologizing for the shape of our careers.
Let’s stop judging ourselves by a system that was never designed with us in mind.
You’re not behind.
You’re not broken.
You’re not off track.
✨ You’re exactly where you’re meant to be, and your next chapter is still yours to write.
