I wanted to share something more personal—a joyful highlight in my own life.

Dear {{contact.first_name}},

As we close out the 4-part “Career Apocalypse” series, I’m taking a break from career content to share something more personal—and joyful: the arrival of our daughter’s third child.

It’s been nonstop in the best way. My husband and I have been spending our days with the older two (ages 3½ and 2), keeping them busy with outings, play, and plenty of snacks while mom and dad settle in with their new little one.

At the Career Planning Studio, our work isn’t just about helping you build a career you love—it’s about supporting a life that feels full, grounded, and aligned with what matters most to you.

Being immersed in the fullness of family life lately has been a powerful reminder that the most meaningful success is the kind that fits you—not just your resume.

So, I’ll leave you with a few questions I often ask clients—and that I’m asking myself right now too:

  • What does a well-lived life look like for you in this season?

  • Where does your work support that vision—and where might it be getting in the way?

  • What small adjustments could bring you more energy, ease, or meaning?

You don’t have to overhaul everything overnight. But clarity begins when you slow down, listen, and start to notice what you actually want and need.

I’d love to hear what’s rising to the surface for you these days.

Warmly,

Melissa Palmer, MS, CPC

P.S. If you’re anything like me, sometimes clarity comes not in a strategy session, but in a quiet moment holding a newborn or laughing over crackers with a toddler. I’ve included a photo—just a small window into the joy and perspective these little ones bring.

No productivity metrics today.  Just presence.  And a heavy dose of loving chaos!

On a lighter note:

There’s nothing like being tackled by a toddler with sticky fingers and a snotty nose to snap you out of overthinking your LinkedIn profile.

The past few weeks have been full of snacks, naps (not mine, unfortunately), and kid-level negotiations. And weirdly, it’s been the perfect reminder: we’re not just building careers—we’re building lives.

Careers are important. But so are the things that happen between meetings, job interviews, or strategy sessions—like laughing with someone you love, taking a walk, or actually enjoying your lunch.

So, if today’s win isn’t a big breakthrough but a moment of breathing room? That still counts. Take it. You’ve earned it.

We'd love to hear from you!
