Good Day!

Welcome to our March newsletter! As the season changes and spring blossoms, it's the perfect time to dive into event planning and explore fresh and vibrant wedding trends. In this edition, we will discuss exciting spring wedding trends, outdoor event ideas, essential tips for destination weddings, featured wedding services, upcoming holidays, and some spring cleaning and organizational tips to keep you on track for your special day.

Spring Wedding Trends: Fresh and Vibrant Inspiration

Spring is a time of new beginnings, and what better way to celebrate than with a wedding? Let's delve into the latest trends, from colorful floral arrangements to whimsical decor. Discover how you can infuse your wedding with the essence of the season and create a truly memorable event

  • In your ceremony space.  The backdrop. Where you will be exchanging your vows. Adding a pop of color and add a rug or two; this will leave a wow effect.

  • At the tables vibrant goblets of varying hues makes a statement.

  • Another wow factor with color is a statement colored wedding cake.

Outdoor Event Ideas:

Tips for Planning Successful Outdoor Events

With the arrival of spring, outdoor events become a popular choice. Whether you're planning a garden wedding or an al fresco reception, we have valuable tips to ensure your outdoor event goes off without a hitch. From selecting the perfect venue to weather-proofing your setup, we'll guide you through every step.

  • No matter your location, consider renting a tent from a professional vendor.  They will install the tent for you and secure it to handle any weather challenges. Most have sides for the tent! Don’t skip the sides, and have a bag of zip ties.  Because when it starts to pour, it is much easier to put the sides up with zip ties vs the assembly pieces.

  • Lighting is a must!  From candles to colorful up lighting in your landscape.  Lighting can turn a great event into a “wow” event. But, with lighting, you need a good power source!

  • Accessibility.  Don’t overlook the restrooms.  If you need to rent portable toilets.  I encourage to rent all accessible toilets.  They are large enough to add a little table with a candle rug and mirror.  And still get a walker or wheelchair into the toilet.  There is a venue in the Pacific Northwest that has mastered their outdoor restroom area!  Your guests will be impressed with the extra efforts!

  • Place a blanket on the back of every chair. One of my favorite weddings was using a tent for the reception dinner, and the couple bought the blankets from IKEA. Then, I pinned a cute note to each blanket.  This also acted as their favor.

  • Build a bonfire!  If you want your guests to stick around the bonfire is one way to encourage that!  Have ample seating.  A s’more station and a drink station is always a hit!

Learn about the best destinations, legal requirements, and how to plan a seamless ceremony in a different location. Let us help you turn your wedding into a memorable adventure.

  • Research and Choose the Perfect Location: Start by researching different destinations (for example France) and choose a location that suits your preferences and budget. Consider factors such as accessibility, weather, local attractions, and the availability of wedding venues.

  • Understand the Legal Requirements: Familiarize yourself with the legal requirements for getting married in France. Each country has its own set of rules and regulations, so it's important to understand the documentation needed, residency requirements, and any specific procedures involved.

  • Hire a Wedding Planner: To ensure a smooth and stress-free wedding planning process, consider hiring a  wedding planner who is familiar with destination weddings and can assist you with the logistics, legal requirements, and vendor coordination.

  • Communicate with Guests in Advance: Inform your guests about the destination wedding well in advance, ideally at least 8-16 months before the wedding date. Provide them with all the necessary information, including travel details, accommodation options, and any additional activities or events planned during their stay.

  • Embrace the Local Culture: Incorporate elements of the local culture into your wedding ceremony and reception to create an authentic and unique experience. This could include incorporating local traditions, cuisine, music, or decorations.

We'll also introduce you to the trending colors for 2024 weddings and provide inspiration on how to incorporate them into your big day.

PEACH FUZZ -

is the Pantone color for 2024. So how can you encorporate Peach fuzz?

THEMED DRESS CODE -

share your dress code or include your mood board with your save the date. This gives your guests a little teaser on what is to come and start planning their own attire.  It gets them involves and excited.

UNIQUE GUEST BOOKS + NEVER BEFORE SEEN SEATING CHART VIGNETTES - Unique guest books, like audio guest books and telephone booths have become hugely popular this year.  I know a vendor that rents the phone along with a vintage gossip chair. A fun alternative for guests to give their well wishes and congratulations for the couple to enjoy for years to come… think of a playful vintage telephone or English Telephone Booth adds bonus points for going that extra mile with decor! Another fab idea is  a statement making seating chart vignette. This is one of my favorite elements to incorporate into a wedding. I am thrilled that this trend is taking off!

CREATING CONVERSATION CORNERS- couples are renting trendy furniture that goes with their style aesthetic for their wedding; giving their guests an opportunity to have a seat and indulge in intimate conversation.

Upcoming Holidays: Get Creative with St. Patrick's Day and More

March brings with it fun and festive holidays, including St. Patrick's Day. We'll share creative ideas to celebrate this holiday with a wedding twist. Additionally, we'll highlight other exciting holidays happening this month and provide suggestions on how to incorporate them into your wedding theme or decor.

Green-themed decor: Embrace the color of the day by using green as your main wedding color. Incorporate green elements in your floral arrangements, table settings, and even the wedding cake.

Irish music and dancing: Hire a live band or DJ that specializes in Irish music to entertain your guests. You can also consider hiring Irish dancers to perform during the reception. It's a great way to get everyone in the St. Patrick's Day spirit.

Celtic-inspired wedding attire:
Consider incorporating Celtic elements into your wedding attire. This could be through a Celtic knot brooch, a tartan sash, or even a traditional Irish wedding gown or kilt.

Shamrock details:

Add small shamrock details throughout your wedding. For example, you could incorporate shamrock-shaped confetti, have shamrock-shaped boutonnieres or corsages, or even include shamrock motifs on your wedding invitations.

Signature St. Patrick's Day cocktails: Create a signature cocktail for your wedding that is inspired by St. Patrick's Day. You could serve a green-hued cocktail like an Irish Sour or an Irish Mule.

Lucky charms:

Give your guests small lucky charms as wedding favors. These could be small tokens like four-leaf clover keychains or personalized lucky horseshoes.

Spring Cleaning and Organizational Tips: Stay on Track for Your Wedding

Planning a wedding involves a lot of details and organization. To help you stay on top of things, we've included some spring cleaning and organizational tips and tricks. From creating a wedding checklist to decluttering your space, these tips will ensure you stay organized and stress-free throughout the planning process.

Get a Wedding Checklist:

This will help you break down the tasks into smaller, manageable steps and set deadlines for each one. Every good checklist has a timeline included on it. This will help you stay organized and ensure that nothing is overlooked. **hint my website offers a free checklist.

Declutter Your Space:

Before diving into wedding planning, take some time to declutter your space. Get rid of any unnecessary items and organize your belongings. This will not only create a clean and organized environment but also make it easier to find wedding-related items when you need them.

Set Up a Dedicated Wedding Planning Area: Designate a specific area in your home as your wedding planning zone. This could be a desk, a corner of a room, or even a whole room if you have the space. Keep all your wedding-related documents, contracts, and notes in this area to avoid misplacing them.

Create a Wedding Binder or Folder:

Use a binder or folder to keep all your wedding-related documents organized. Label different sections for contracts, vendor information, inspiration photos, and any other relevant paperwork. This will make it easy to find what you need when meeting with vendors or making decisions.

Utilize Digital Organization Tools:

Take advantage of digital organization tools like Google Drive or Dropbox to store and organize important wedding documents electronically. This way, you can access them from anywhere and easily share them with your wedding planner or vendors. **hint: your wedding planner may have a portal already set up for you to drop things into easily.

Delegate Tasks:

Don't be afraid to delegate tasks to trusted friends and family members. Whether it's researching vendors, DIY projects, or managing RSVPs, sharing the workload will help lighten your load and keep you organized.  **hint: ask your planner, they may already have a vetted list of vendors and other ideas to help with delegation.

Schedule Regular Planning Sessions: Set aside dedicated time each week or month to review your wedding checklist, update your budget, and tackle any outstanding tasks. This will help you stay on track and prevent last-minute stress. **hint: add this to your calendar.  Try to make it the same weekday and time.  This creates consistency and you are more likely to keep this appointment with yourself and/or planner!

Keep a Wedding Journal: Consider keeping a journal to jot down ideas, inspiration, and important notes throughout the planning process. This will not only help you stay organized but also serve as a keepsake of your wedding journey.

Take Breaks and Practice Self-Care: Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, so remember to take breaks and prioritize self-care. Schedule downtime for yourself and your partner to relax and recharge. This will help you stay focused and reduce stress.

By implementing these spring cleaning and organizational tips, you'll be able to stay on track and enjoy a stress-free wedding planning experience. Happy planning!
