After many years, I finally have found a few different platforms to share my love for design, events, travel and hosting in one location. In this newsletter, we will hit several topics. This is just a little punch of info. If you want more, then send me an email, text or yes, you can call and we can discuss more and I am happy to share. Last month was the Seattle Wedding Show, and if I saw you or met you there, fantastic! I hope you gathered all you came to get! Next, on February 25th, I will be in Tukwila at the LGBTQ Wedding Expo. Feel free to pop by and say hello!

I wish you all the love a joy this month.

  • Tips for Planning a Wedding Six Months Away

Dear Engaged Couples,

Love is in the air, and we're here to make your February extra special! Whether you're planning a wedding six months away or looking for fun activities this month, we've got you covered. Let's dive into the exciting details:

  • Pick out your date/location and theme

  • Ask a professional for help with planning or at least getting a timeline and use your calendar to keep you on track! And do yourself a favor and hire at least a month of manager. Even if this is your Engagement party. When you are the host and the planner it can be very difficult to run the show and actually enjoy your event. The point of a planner is to allow you the affordability to enjoy your guests!

  • Rehearse! It is not a waste of time to run through all the expectations of your wedding party. If this is an Engagement party or housewarming, do this with any hired help, i.e., DJ, Planner, caterer. What is the timeline? What are expectations? Make your needs and desires for a successful event known. They are not mind readers, and everyone's expectations are different; they want to please you.

  • Hire a cleanup crew if the venue doesn't provide one and if it is at your hourse or a friend's/family member's house. Do everyone a favor and hire or designate who is going to be responsible for cleaning and taking home extra items, decor, alcohol, gifts...etc

Fun Things to Do in February

1. Valentine's Day Date Ideas: Celebrate the month of love with unique and memorable experiences. From romantic candlelit dinners to cozy movie nights at home with a popcorn station & hot cocoa bar, there are endless ways to create cherished memories with your partner. Don’t be afraid to let Valentine’s Day spill over to more than one day. Also, if you are feeling overwhelmed about one-upping years to come. My husband and I take turns on who plans Valentine’s Day and our wedding Anniversary. This is so nice, because we alternate years, and it allows us both an opportunity to be creative, take charge in planning the surprise and honestly take a break from planning the surprise! Give that a try!

2. Wedding Vendor Showcases: Use this month to attend wedding vendor showcases, bridal expos & Venue open houses in your area. These events are perfect for discovering new trends, connecting with vendors, and finding inspiration for your big day.

Trendy Health and Beauty Tips

1. Skincare Routine: As a bride-to-be, you want your skin to glow on your wedding day. Consider incorporating a consistent skincare routine that includes proper cleansing, moisturizing, and regular exfoliation. Don't forget to drink plenty of water and eat a balanced diet for that radiant bridal glow. I recommend if you are going to try something new or make any changes to your skin care routine, that you do this at least 2-3 months minimum before your wedding. Many times, when you start using good skin care it brings up that stuff that has been hiding below the surface and you don’t want to deal with that a few weeks before your wedding day. Also, think about sensitive skin, so you might have to try more than one brand. Consult a professional and you too will have that dewy radiant glow!

2. Mindfulness and Stress Relief: Wedding planning can sometimes be overwhelming. Prioritize self-care by practicing mindfulness techniques like meditation or yoga. Find moments to relax and destress, ensuring you feel your best throughout the planning process. I know you have heard this but drink tons of water. Like tons! Staying hydrated is so beneficial. Helps so you don’t get sick, helps elevate headaches, stay regular, the list goes on and on! Okay and last one… shameless plug but honestly, hire a planner! This is money well spent. I cannot tell you how many times I hear, “you were a lifesaver” or “I could not have done this without you”. I have never ever heard, “wish I did hire a planner” or “that was a waste of money” And if you have it all together, please hire a month of manager (which some still call a day of coordinator) This person will allow you the affordability to actually enjoy your day and mingle with your guests!

Don’t try any new skin care routine right before your wedding. If you are going to do it. Do it at least 2-3 months prior!

Bachelorette Travel Getaway Tips

Planning a bachelorette getaway for your friends? Here are a few tips to make it unforgettable:

1. Destination Selection: Choose a location that suits everyone's preferences and budget. Consider a mix of relaxation, adventure, and entertainment options to cater to different interests. You can enlist the help of a travel planning expert, and many specialize in a specific area. If you want to go to Martha’s Vineyard or the South of France, you can enlist the help of an expert!

2. Itinerary Planning: Create a well-balanced itinerary that includes both group activities and free time. This way, your friends can bond and enjoy shared experiences while also having the flexibility to explore on their own.

Tips for Planning a Wedding that is only Six Months Away

1. Finalize Major Details: With six months to go, you should have already locked in your venue, caterer, photographer, and other major vendors. Make sure all contracts are signed and deposits are paid.

2. Guest List and Invitations: Start narrowing down your guest list and collecting guest addresses for invitations. This will give you ample time to design and send out your wedding invitations. *** Here’s a tip, find out from Hair and Make-up how long it will take to do everyone’s H&MU this way you have ample time before the ceremony. This will help you decide when the ceremony should start! If you are having a 2pm ceremony and it takes 8 hours to get everyone ready then you need to start getting ready at 6am and I don’t know about you, but I have had brides have to do this and they usually are not happy when they realize this little blunder! (shhhhh not to mention having to pay extra to the venue to let them in early, nobody really wants to discuss that)
