Organized Event Planning Goals:

  • Pick out your date/location and theme

  • Ask a professional for help with planning or at least getting a timeline and use your calendar to keep you on track! And do yourself a favor and hire at least a month of manager. Even if this is your Engagement party. When you are the host and the planner it can be very difficult to run the show and actually enjoy your event. The point of a planner is to allow you the affordability to enjoy your guests!

  • Rehearse! It is not a waste of time to run through all the expectations of your wedding party. If this is an Engagement party or housewarming, do this with any hired help, i.e., DJ, Planner, caterer. What is the timeline? What are expectations? Make your needs and desires for a successful event known. They are not mind readers, and everyone's expectations are different; they want to please you.

  • Hire a cleanup crew if the venue doesn't provide one and if it is at your hourse or a friend's/family member's house. Do everyone a favor and hire or designate who is going to be responsible for cleaning and taking home extra items, decor, alcohol, gifts...etc

- Provide chic blankets that are embroidered with your guests name on each individual blanket; then place one on the back of each chair as their favor. This has a dual purpose it also will keep them warm throughout the evening.

- Fur is making a huge comeback. Now we are not saying we agree ethically with real fur; however, most fur coats and stoles are faux. Some are vintage, therefore it is a recycled use of a fur that has been in a closet for years. You decide what you want to wear on your wedding day and ask your bridal attendants to stay warm and wrap up in a fur stole or shawl, with a contrasting color from the one you choose. - Pick a venue with a grand fireplace that allows you to use it! Or a wonderful fire pit outside. Set up your s'mores station there or add pictures on the mantel.

 

- Candles, candles, and more candles! When it gets dark so early, you can really set the tone and mood for the evening with candles. It will be romantic, sexy, and even nostalgic for some guests.

 

- Serve your guests with a brandy or bourbon mini shot in a small chocolate cup or bonbon. It is nice to be handed something sweet upon arrival when coming in from the cold, and a mini shot or bonbon is the perfect amount of bourbon to warm up your guests.

 

 - Serve hot drinks at the bar as well.

Kick off the month with a celebration of winter's beauty! From snowy activities to cozy indoor gatherings, find delightful ways to revel in the wonders of winter.

 

-Baking Party

great time to gather inside and try some bread baking or anything else that might quench your appetite. The key is to gather with friends. 

- Cocktail-making classes

You can find them locally in large cities or do them via Zoom. They are a lot of fun with your fiancé or a coed party.

- Girls getaway weekend!

 Find a cozy cabin on Airbnb or VRBO with a hot tub and plan some quality girl time!

- Escape room

This is your opportunity to work together to solve the puzzles and get out of the room (then go to dinner)!

- Murder mystery party

You can buy the game or find it online. Do a potluck and tell all your friends to bring something per your theme ie Italian food, and dress the part. You assign the characters, and they dress up as they feel those characters would dress. You can definitely have more guests than characters. It is a fun way to spend an evening!
