February is the month of love, and at the New City & Harrison Schools of Music, our hearts are full. We feel so grateful for our incredible students and families who make our musical community such a special place to grow, learn, and create together.
🎶 Woodstock 2026 — SOLD OUT!
The excitement around our 2026 Destination Recital at the site of the original Woodstock has been amazing. All performance spots have officially sold out — wow! We are thrilled so many students jumped at this unforgettable opportunity.
If you missed registration, don’t worry. Contact the school to be added to our waiting list in case any spots open up.
❄️ Thank You for Your Flexibility
We truly appreciate everyone’s understanding as we adjusted recital schedules due to winter weather. Safety always comes first, and we’re so proud of how families and students handled the changes. Most of all, we loved seeing our students take the stage, the confidence, growth, and smiles reminded us exactly why recitals are so important.
📅 Our June recital date is currently being finalized, and we’ll share details soon!
🎹 A Little Practice = A Lot of Progress
This month, we encourage students to show their instrument a little extra love at home. Here are a few quick tips:
❤️ Short, focused practice is better than long, distracted practice
❤️ Try “mini goals” (one section, one scale, one tricky measure)
❤️ Consistency beats cramming
❤️ Play for fun too — favorite songs keep motivation high
Small daily effort adds up in big ways!
⏱️ Thinking About Longer Lessons?
Just like athletes who spend more time with their coaches to improve skills, musicians grow faster when they have more guided time with their teacher. Upgrading to a longer lesson can mean:
🎵 More time for technique
🎵 More repertoire
🎵 Stronger progress toward recital goals
🎵 Deeper confidence and musicianship
If your student is ready for the next level, ask us about lesson length options!
Thank you for being part of our musical family. We love watching your students grow, not just as musicians, but as confident, disciplined, creative individuals. 💕 Here’s to a February filled with music, progress, and joy!
