A Remarkable Year in Music: 2025 Recap & What’s Ahead

As we wrap up an incredible year at the Harrison School of Music and the New City School of Music, we want to take a moment to reflect on the milestones our students, families, and teachers have achieved together.

Two Sold-Out Shows at Carnegie Hall

In October, 60 of our students took the stage at the world-famous Carnegie Hall as part of our 2025 Destination Recital Series. Performing in a venue of this caliber is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, one that builds confidence, grit, and pride in a way few activities can. Our students rose to the occasion beautifully, and we couldn’t be more proud.

New City School of Music: First Year in Our Own Building

2025 also marked our first full year operating out of our very own dedicated New City School of Music campus. Having a space we've designed specifically for learning, creativity, comfort, and performances, has elevated the experience for our students and families in countless ways.

Harrison School of Music Turns 15!

And coming up in January 2026, the Harrison School of Music celebrates 15 years of helping students grow, thrive, and discover the joy of music. What started as a small dream has evolved into a vibrant community of families who believe in the power of the arts.

Why Recitals Matter – Especially Now

Today’s parents are thinking deeply about the kinds of skills and experiences they want their children to develop:

  • Confidence in front of others

  • Resilience and follow-through

  • Focus and discipline

  • Experiences that look great on future applications, but more importantly, shape character

Music lessons check all of these boxes. And recitals, in particular, are where everything comes together.

Recitals give students a healthy goal to work toward, teach them how to prepare under pressure, and let them experience the pride of accomplishing something that they put the work into. In a world of screens, group projects and shared responsibilities, music gives kids something incredibly valuable: a place where effort, progress, and achievement are directly tied to their own practice and commitment. Parents consistently tell us how much they love this aspect of lessons.

January 2026 Recitals – Sign Up by December 20!

Our next Student Recitals take place in January 2026, and sign-ups are now open!

To reserve your performance time, please speak with your teacher before December 20, 2025.

Whether it’s a student’s very first recital or their tenth, these events are milestones that help build confidence, deepen musical growth, and create memories your family will treasure for years to come.

Thank you for being part of our musical family. Here's to a wonderful end of 2025, and an even more exciting 2026 ahead!

We can’t say where just yet… but let’s just say this stage has a vibe. 🎸

It’s a place where music once changed the world — a place that still echoes with music history. 🌼

In 2026, we’re bringing our Destination Recital to a venue unlike anything we’ve ever done before. Imagine performing where music history was made… surrounded by open skies, incredible energy, and the spirit of pure artistic freedom.

This isn’t just another recital — it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. 🌈

Sunday, November 8, 2026 — mark your calendars now.

Because when we finally announce where we’re headed, you’ll want to be among the first to sign up. 👀

Stay tuned for more details — the reveal is coming in January!
