Find "Another Way" This Summer at
Camp Swatara

Registration for Summer 2025 is officially open, and we are excited to invite campers to grow in faith, build friendships, and experience the beauty of God’s creation! This year’s theme, “Another Way,” is inspired by Psalm 46:1-3, 10, reminding us that no matter what challenges we face;

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging... ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’"

At Camp Swatara, campers will experience “Another Way”—the way of trusting God, finding peace in His presence, and living out their faith through adventure, worship, and fellowship. Whether through hiking, campfires, creative arts, team-building, or Bible study, campers will be encouraged to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ while surrounded by the beauty of His creation.

Join Us In Welcoming Alex Nye

For our 2025 Summer, Camp Swatara is pleased to partner with Alex Nye, who has, himself, been a summer camper for between 8-9 years and served as a summer camp staff member for 2 years, with this summer being his third.

Alex is in his fourth year at Millersville University, majoring in history and minoring in political science. Alex plans to pursue seminary and in the future, minister as a Pastor.

He attends Lancaster COB, having leadership responsibilities and joined us as our Interim Program Manager in the fall of last year, as we seek to bring continuity between our '24 and '25 seasons ahead of hiring staff for our program experiences needs with summer camps, retreat groups, and in our family campground.

Right now, Alex is most excited about how our 2025 Summer Staff potential is shaping up as we have some solid returning staff and some high quality candidates! Alex invites you to consider serving on staff or as a volunteer as a counselor or for our health care needs as a nurse. You can contact him at alex@campswatara.org

New Bathhouse Updates

We are excited as progress continues toward completion of the new bathhouse for the Woods Area. Last year, our Board voted to move ahead with the demolition of the old bathhouse and the construction of the new structure, in anticipation and with some early support for our upcoming Capital Campaign.

At the cleared and excavated site, the footers have been poured, a natural retaining wall created, and within the past couple of weeks the plumber has laid drain lines, our staff put down electrical conduit, and we are prepped for pouring the concrete slab.

We're currently finalizing details with the flooring and septic tank companies for the finish inside and the upgrade to the system attached to the new Bathhouse.

The new layout will provide 8 (each) individual use showers and restrooms with toilet/sink for a total of 16, including 2 (each) ADA toilets and showers. Now, parents with children can experience more privacy and campers using this facility won't be interrupted as we clean, since we'll only need to close two individual units at a time, keeping the remaining 14 units open for use, rather than closing all of the men's or all of the women's previously.
