Are you a professional who has a smartphone, tablet, AND laptop… all three? Why? Can’t they all do the same thing? You have your reasons for having all three. Your reasons might overlap someone else’s who bought all three, and those reasons run the gamut. And there is overlap of what each device can do. The smartphone, tablet, and laptop can all send and receive email. The smartphone, tablet, and even laptop can take photos, one more comfortably and better quality than the others. The phone, tablet, and laptop can all travel, though phones and tablets are smaller than laptops. Each has different storage capacity, screen size, and audio capability.

When considering how your how-to tips are like smartphones, the parallel could easily be a trio of a tips booklet, audio recording of the same content, and a book on the same topic as the tips and audio recording. The tips are smaller products than the other two, whether in print or as a digital version. It’s got the basics, it’s less costly, and can be customized. The audio recording is a slightly expanded version of the tips product, presented conversationally rather than only the 2 sentences of tips writing. Since the audio is only a downloadable link, the only space it takes is a saved link on an electronic delivery product, any one of the 3 devices. Then the third player in this comparison, the book, is the largest of the three, with greater depth to what was started with how-to tips, and moved to slightly expanded, conversational audio recording.
