Many experts, authors, speakers, and creatives pour energy into building one thing: a book, a course, a talk, a product. You may be among those professionals who already did that. Here’s the kicker: that one thing can generate revenue for you from many directions. If it’s not doing that (up until now!), you’re working harder than necessary.

Multiple revenue streams are more than a trendy phrase; they’re a strategy for a sustainable, profitable business. If you’re a subject matter expert, consultant, coach, or creative entrepreneur, relying on a single income source is like balancing on a one-legged stool. One wobble, like a cancelled client, slow book sales, or industry shift, and the whole thing topples, risking a whole lot emotionally, financially, and every other part of daily life as you know it.

So, what do multiple revenue streams really look like?

They’re not dozens of disconnected products, each demanding more of your time. They’re often the same content, repackaged, reframed, or restructured to serve different audiences, price points, and formats. That 16-page tips booklet ? It can also be an audio course, licensing deal, bulk corporate sale, different language, lead generator, speaking topic, media hook, product insert, or digital giveaway. One piece of content equals dozens of possible paydays.

This model is about leverage. do the thinking once, then let it earn for you in many ways. And no, it’s not about “passive income” fairy tales. It’s about smart income. Predictable, scalable, and diversified.

The benefits go beyond just money. With multiple revenue streams, you:

  • Reach more people in ways they prefer to learn: reading, listening, watching, or doing.

  • Weather any downturns if/when one or more streams slow, others keep flowing.

  • Expand your authority being “everywhere” in different forms builds recognition and trust and even new revenue streams.

  • Unlock bigger opportunities with bulk buyers, sponsors, and licensing partners who are drawn to experts that already think beyond the one-and-done model.

Here’s what surprises lots of  folks: You don’t need a big team, budget, or brand to start. Many of the most profitable moves are low-cost, low-risk, and high-return. Six-figure licensing deals and bulk orders have happened from products that started as simple tip booklets. During COVID, many speakers and trainers shifted to teaching conference technology to companies’ employees. That gave speakers and trainers income and taught their students necessary skills for them and their employers to function.This is a profound yet realistic  example of identifying and activating a new multiple revenue stream.

Many solopreneurs were able to expand their reach and their revenue by connecting with people all over the world more easily through Zoom networking groups. Those solopreneurs had much greater access to buyers of their services and products than prior to COVID.

What matters most is the mindset. Ask yourself “Where else can this go?” Is it a different audience, different content format, more in-depth version of an existing product or presentation, to name a few?

One product. Many income sources. That’s the shift. It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing smarter, and in many cases less, increasing your impact and your income.  You already have the expertise. Now, let it pay you again…and again.

Walking Our Talk

For many years, Tips Products International has had multiple revenue streams from early on. During 2025’s 4th quarter, we observed and experienced substantial positive shifts in our business prompting a remodel. Yes, things were working, and things could work even better.  

One big step forward is a reliable, capable, continuous team now exists. 30-somethings are terrific. They provide input (“I was thinking…is my most favorite phrase from any of them!), do things I don’t want to do, and am uninspired to learn. We laugh between “what’s next” and “how do we get it done?”  There’s also a great new printer. Our long-time printer had the nerve to retire (and he’s considerably younger than I am!)

The remodel looks like this: three pillars now with a fourth possibly the following year.

JOINT VENTURES - Currently I am doing two substantial joint ventures. They have nothing to do with each other, the two principals don’t know each other, and it’s very satisfying to me and to them.

The courses will each start at a basic, entry level for that topic and will be a realistic, reasonable length so you are more likely to start, go through, and finish each of them rather than feel inundated with stuff to supposedly impress you. These are the elements involved in bringing non-traditional revenue streams to you, intellectual property creators of all flavors.
