You may be familiar with the quote, “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man,” attributed to the Greek philosopher, Heraclitus. Of course, that is also true of a woman!

From your initial awareness of what brought you to your Subject Matter Expert status until the moment you are reading this article, every day of your life has been new and different.

You know more than you did yesterday, your feelings are different than they were yesterday. YOU are different from the person you were yesterday. Your journey is different from anyone else’s.

DIFFERENCE = GOOD THING

The way you share your expertise is uniquely yours, even if there are similarities to what you did yesterday or what someone else is doing. Therein lies opportunity. You can expand, contract, take a different path, or whatever appeals to you. That appeal can be based on your desire, inclination, a gap you are inspired to fill, and any criteria that captures your attention, enthusiasm, and ability, big or small.

LIMITLESS

Yes, that intentionally paints a broad picture with minimal limitations. Is that scary to you, exciting, inviting, or something else? You instantly imagined a film documentary reflecting an important aspect of your expertise, and you have no money or knowledge on how to do it? So what? There are people who do know how and have the money to invest.

They share your perspective on the importance of bringing this information to many people around the world in different languages. Together, you collectively become the first to deliver this information, making a major contribution to the wellbeing of millions and millions of people worldwide.

Sounds like a wild and impossible fantasy? To some, yes, it is. To others, it feels like the reason they were put on the planet. Of course, deviation from the norm does not need to be that dramatic or large to accomplish your growth and your distinction.  

CASE STUDY

During the global COVID pandemic in 2020, many successfully created deviations from the norm to keep their business going.

Tips Products Publishing Agency facilitated a children’s book author’s sale of  500 copies of her beautiful book differently than the norm. The author helped her own company.

She allowed a private donor to enjoy a tax deduction by sponsoring a donation of 500 books and shipping costs to a non-profit organization whose mission was to support military families. This differentiation example highlights numerous ways of simultaneously helping many people and organizations.

DIFFERENCE EXPANDS BENEFITS

  • That client made the sale by a private donor rather than corporate sponsor or  end-user paying for 500 books and shipping.

  • The non-profit received the donation allowing them to fulfill their mission.

  • The military families got a meaningful gift showing a little girl sad to leave her friends by moving away with her parents.

  • Tips Products Publishing Agency benefited by facilitating the transaction.

By the way, we had never done anything like this before and merely asked clarifying questions along the way. Everyone was eager to help. There was no red tape or bureaucracy, allowing the transaction to smoothly, quickly, and sanely happen. 

Whatever inspiration you have, big or small, there is plenty of space even in the most crowded industries and professions to bring something different in some way that distinguishes you and your business from the norm, in all the best ways.
