A NOTE FROM MISS KATE M:

I hope everyone is staying warm and back on track after the daylight savings time change!

I had SO much fun last week doing costume sizing. I truly love getting a little one on one time with every dancer. The costumes are all SO cute and pretty and seeing the dancers' faces light up when trying them on is just the best (well 2nd best only to seeing them shine on stage at recital!). We have a few students to size still, but will be getting them as we see them.

Last week we also welcomed back Miss Rachel from maternity leave! So great to have her back in the studio sharing her love, passion and knowledge of ballet and dance!

Best of luck to Miss Sydney this weekend as she has her fall show with the professional dance company she is a part of. We know you will be amazing Miss Sydney!!!

COSTUME SIZING!!

Last week, Miss Kate started going around to each class that needs a recital costume and sized the dancers! It will take a few weeks to catch everyone...so if you are absent this week, no worries! We will find you next week or the week after!

REMINDER: Wear tight fitting clothes and NO attached skirts until you have been sized. Thank you!

And parents, don't worry! We know the dancers will likely grow between now and May. So we do leave room for growth. Miss Kate's talented mom, Miss Jan, does alterations in May if needed. And we can always make a costume smaller, not bigger. So when in doubt we will go up. And we've been doing this a VERY long time and have a great "sizing track record", so trust us and sit back and relax!

COSTUME RAFFLE WINNERS!!

Yes, that says WINNERS!! We chose TWO lucky winners. Thank you to all of you that donated and entered the raffle.

We raised $285 for our special needs non-profit, Darby's Dancers!!

CHRISTMAS CLEARING COUNCIL

Every year LDC work with the Christmas Clearing Council to sponsor local families in need. We have 3 families, with a total of 12 kids that we are sponsoring this year.

There are gift tags at the front desk to grab if you are interested and able to help.

• Grab a tag (or a few!)

• Shop AND wrap your gift.

• Attach your gift tag to the outside, so we know what family it is for, and bring it back to LDC by Saturday 12/6.

• We will coordinate with the families to get them their gifts before Christmas.

Thank you to those that already grabbed tags. These families will have a very merry Christmas thanks to your generosity!

COAT DRIVE

Every year one of our awesome dance family's organizes a coat drive. Go through your closets and bring in any new or gently used coats you no longer need.

There is a bin by the front desk to put them in. THANK YOU!!!

RECITAL COSTUME BALANCES (11/15)

• Balances will be processed on 11/15. Amount is based on the age of the class:

  • Ages 2-3 & 4-5: $35, plus tax

  • Ages 6-8: $40, plus tax

  • Ages 9-12 & Teen: $45, plus tax

NOVA LINEA CONTEMPORARY DANCE:

Our very own Miss Sydney, is in the amazing dance company Nova Linea Contemporary Dance.

They have a show coming up next weekend (11/14 & 11/15) and we hope some of you can make it!

If you've been here before, you know the deal :)

If you are new to us...we can't wait for your to experience the magic that is recital! You may think it's just one weekend in the spring, but there are quite a few elements and special moments throughout the year that make up this special core memory.

BOARD IS UP: Be sure to check out the poster on the slat wall in the lobby (look for the balloon display and huddle of people!).

RECITAL WEBSITE IS LIVE: We have a dedicated recital website that will house all of the information you will need. We spread it out over the course of the next 6 7 months, so not all is released yet, but the photos of the costumes and songs names are!

Next up...costume sizing begins next week...THAT is so much fun!!
