A NOTE FROM MISS KATE M:

Last week was SO fun. It brings us such joy to have the studio full of love. And it was so nice getting to chat with so many family members that we don't get to see on a regular basis. The dancers truly loved having so much support. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to do so!

This week we start RECITAL COSTUME SIZING!! It's one of my all time favorite weeks as it allows me a few minutes with EACH student in the studio. I love that one on one time and of course, it's also so fun to see the costumes in real life!

**Reminder, please do NOT wear dresses with attached tutus OR baggy clothes until you've been sized. We slip the costumes right over your tight fitting dance wear that should be worn to class each week, but it's especially important when sizing that we do so over tight fitting clothing. Thanks!!

COSTUME SIZING!!

Monday, Miss Kate started going around to each class that needs a recital costume and sized the dancers! It will take a few weeks to catch everyone...so if you are absent this week, no worries! We will find you next week or the week after!

REMINDER: Wear tight fitting clothes and NO attached skirts until you have been sized. Thank you!

And parents, don't worry! We know the dancers will likely grow between now and May. So we do leave room for growth. Miss Kate's talented mom, Miss Jan, does alterations in May if needed. And we can always make a costume smaller, not bigger. So when in doubt we will go up. And we've been doing this a VERY long time and have a great "sizing track record", so trust us and sit back and relax!

EPIC DANCE: WEEKEND WORKSHOP

Our competition team dancers are still feeling the joy (and maybe some body aches/soreness too) from their weekend workshop. Each year Epic Dance comes into to work with our competition team dancers.

They take 4 hours of classes on both Saturday AND Sunday. They learn new styles, get fresh tips and even some reminders from the Epic Faculty that they hear from their LDC teachers every week :)

We love this weekend and are happy to offer this opportunity to our competition team each year!

NOVA LINEA CONTEMPORARY DANCE:

Our very own Miss Sydney, is in the amazing dance company Nova Linea Contemporary Dance.

They have a show coming up next weekend (11/14 & 11/15) and we hope some of you can make it!

RECITAL COSTUME BALANCES (11/15)

• Balances will be processed on 11/15. Amount is based on the age of the class:

  • Ages 2-3 & 4-5: $35, plus tax

  • Ages 6-8: $40, plus tax

  • Ages 9-12 & Teen: $45, plus tax

WAUKESHA CHRISTMAS PARADE (12/7)

• Sunday 12/7 at 4pm. We are excited to have another BIG LDC crew dancing/walking with us!

If you are new to us...we can't wait for your to experience the magic that is recital! You may think it's just one weekend in the spring, but there are quite a few elements and special moments throughout the year that make up this special core memory.

BOARD IS UP: Be sure to check out the poster on the slat wall in the lobby (look for the balloon display and huddle of people!).

RECITAL WEBSITE IS LIVE: We have a dedicated recital website that will house all of the information you will need. We spread it out over the course of the next 6 7 months, so not all is released yet, but the photos of the costumes and songs names are!

Next up...costume sizing begins next week...THAT is so much fun!!
