LOGOWEAR: Our fall/winter logowear store is now active! Lots of fun items that will make for some great holiday gifts. Our 2025 PARADE sweatshirt is on there (if you will be participating with LDC for the Waukesha Christmas Parade 12/7). There are even some team items too!

HALLOWEEN FUN: The dancers and teachers are having a blast creating some fun, spooky dances for our Halloween show week 10/25-10/30. See below for more details. Trunk or Treat is coming soon too, Sunday 10/19 1-2pm at LDC.

RECITAL!!!

The board is UP and the recital website is LIVE!

If you've been here before, you know the deal :)

If you are new to us...we can't wait for your to experience the magic that is recital! You may think it's just one weekend in the spring, but there are quite a few elements and special moments throughout the year that make up this special core memory.

BOARD IS UP: Be sure to check out the poster on the slat wall in the lobby (look for the balloon display and huddle of people!).

RECITAL WEBSITE IS LIVE: We have a dedicated recital website that will house all of the information you will need. We spread it out over the course of the next 6 7 months, so not all is released yet, but the photos of the costumes and songs names are!

Next up...costume sizing begins in November...THAT is so much fun!!

LDC LOGOWEAR STORE IS NOW OPEN!!

It's that time of year again...get your dancer (and yourself) some fun LDC gear. AND get a jumpstart on some holiday shopping!! LOTS of fun items.

Teams: be sure to check your BAND app for the Password you will need to order team gear.

The online store closes on Thursday 10/30 at 11:59pm.

If you will be dancing/walking with LDC in the Waukesha Christmas Parade (we hope LOTS of you will as always, all are welcome!)...you will need to order the RED PARADE SWEATSHIRT. This not only makes sure we look like a nice, cohesive group, but more importantly...it's a safety aid as it helps us know who is all there with LDC.

TRUNK OR TREAT!!

Our 3rd annual LDC Trunk or Treat is less than 2 weeks away (Sunday 10/19)!!

We are looking for a few more trunks.!

THE EVENT DETAILS:

• Event is Sunday 10/19, 1-2pm at LDC. This is a special FREE event just for our LDC families.

• Come in costume and stay for community!

• We will have nearly 20 trunks to get treats at...special performances from our Sparkle Squad AND Performing Company.

• Sweet Abilities food truck will be there as well selling their yummy treats.

• We can't wait to see LOTS of you there!

THE "TRUNK" DETAILS:

• You decorate your trunk in a theme of your choice. Go as fancy or as simple as you'd like!

• WE will supply the candy. You are welcome to bring your own, but the LDC staff will make sure you're stocked and restocked throughout the event.

• The event is Sunday, 10/19 from 1-2pm, so plan to arrive by 12:30 (so we can close off the parking lot for safety reasons).

LOOKING AHEAD:

LDC TRUNK OR TREAT (10/19):

• Our 3rd annual TRUNK OR TREAT will be on Sunday, October 19 from 1-2pm.

• This event is FREE for our dance families!

• Special performances by our Performing Company and Sparkle Squads.

• We are looking for a few more trunks. Sign up on the link below!

  • We supply the candy, you supply the themed trunk!!!

• Can't wait to see you all there...always a fun event!!

HALLOWEEN SHOW WEEK (10/25-10/30):

• It's one of our FAVORITE, most fun weeks of the season!

• Performances will happen AT LDC during the last 30 minutes of every hour, during your REGULAR CLASS TIME.

  • Half hour classes, you will either need to come a little early to practice or stay late to perform that week.

• Wear your Halloween costume OR dress festive! Get creative, we love to see it!

• Each class will meet together in the BLACK STUDIO, along with family and friends that come to watch.

• Classes will perform their dance TWICE and finish with a group photo and of course, some candy!!

CULVER'S NIGHT (10/15 4-7pm, Grandview Location)

• Swing by the Grandview Culver's on Wed. 10/15 for dinner and a sweet treat!

• BIG thank you to Culver's, as 10% of sales will go to our non-profit special needs program, Darby's Dancers.

• It's a win-win! Mark your calendars!!

RECITAL COSTUMES (10/1 & 11/15):

• October 1, we processed recital costume deposits with the card on file.

• Balances will be processed on 11/15. Amount is based on the age of the class:

  • Ages 2-3 & 4-5: $35, plus tax

  • Ages 6-8: $40, plus tax

  • Ages 9-12 & Teen: $45, plus tax

• We will start sizing dancers in November and get the costumes ordered by Thanksgiving...crazy but true! Necessary to get them in time for recital.

WAUKESHA CHRISTMAS PARADE (12/7)

• Sunday 12/7 at 4pm. We'd love to have another BIG LDC crew dancing/walking with us.

REMINDERS:

Friendly Reminders

IMPORTANT: Please do not park directly in front of the sidewalk by our mailbox. We need that space clear so that dancers can get dropped off safely during those cRaZy parking lot hours (between 4:30-7pm or so).

We used to have no parking signs there, but sadly the city took them down. We have some new ones coming, that we will try. But as always, thank you for your help with keeping the kiddos safe!!!

In order to maintain a positive experience in the lobby for our dancers and families, please remind your kiddos:

• Refrain from running (too many collisions otherwise!)

• Clean up the toy room after using it :)

• Use the locker rooms for bags/shoes, etc.

  • They create a tripping hazard is on the lobby floors.

• Only use a quick squirt of hand soap in the bathroom.

Thank you in advance for your continued help. We love our spacious studio space and want to make sure everyone is comfortable, it's clean and safe!!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

• Tuition gets processed with the credit card on file on the 25th of the month, August-March.

• Makeup classes are allowed and encouraged!

  • We know life sometimes gets in the way of dance class, so feel free to make up any missed classes at your convenience within 30 days of the missed class.

  • Check out the schedule on our website for class options (CAN be a different style)

  • Please note: Make up classes are NOT allowed March-May, as each class is busy working on their recital dances.

What do we need to wear for class?

• While we don't have a super strict dress code, we do need our students to wear appropriate dance clothing and shoes to class.

• Below is a dress code guide to help get you started.

• The main things we need to see in class:

  • Proper dance shoes for the style of class they are taking.

  • Hair pulled back in a ponytail or bun so it's out of their face.

  • Tighter fitting clothing (with the exception of hip hop) so we can see their alignment and offer corrections.

Where can I get dance wear or dance shoes?

• We LOVE our friends over at Ballera Dance in Brookfield. They will help get you expertly fitted to ensure your dancer has the best dance experience.

• You can also shop online, just note sizing may be tougher.
