A NOTE FROM MISS KATE:

We started class on Monday and it's been so fun to see the hallways full of energy and classrooms full of happy, hardworking dancers!!

We look forward to seeing the rest of you tonight or later this week. If you are still out on summer fun, enjoy! And we'll see you when we see you.

This past weekend 6 of my teachers and I attended a conference in Chicago. It was called Energize and boy did we leave feeling energized! We got to take classes on teaching preschoolers and teens and every age in between. Movement classes, inspiration classes and business seminars. We got new ideas on how to motivate and build confidence and even how to better communicate with you, the parents!! We are excited to share our big takeaways with the rest of the LDC team and our classes.

I was feeling extra emotional Monday as it was my 18th "first day of classes at LDC". I still get excited (and nervous), but we have such a great team and community here at LDC and we know it will be another fantastic season!!

Did you know we have lockers!

We do! These are GREAT for dancers that are here multiple days...so if you are interested in RENTING a locker for the season, stop by the front desk (or send us an email) and we will get you all set.

• $25/locker for the 25/26 season

• You choose your locker # and location (must be 13 to use Teen Lounge)

• Let Miss Stacy know your locker # and your lock combo

• And you're good to go to leave all of your stuff locked up all season!

We love to celebrate you! Please make sure to take a look at the "Milestone wall" in the lobby and make sure your name is on there if it should be!

TIP: Count how many LDC recitals you have done (and be sure to INCLUDE THIS YEAR) to figure out what LDC year you are on.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

• Tuition gets processed with the credit card on file on the 25th of the month, August-March.

• Makeup classes are allowed and encouraged!

  • We know life sometimes gets in the way of dance class, so feel free to make up any missed classes at your convenience within 30 days of the missed class.

  • Check out the schedule on our website for class options.

  • Please note: Make up classes are NOT allowed March-May, as each class is busy working on their recital dances.

What do we need to wear for class?

• While we don't have a super strict dress code, we do need our students to wear appropriate dance clothing and shoes to class.

• Below is a dress code guide to help get you started.

• The main things we need to see in class:

  • Proper dance shoes for the style of class they are taking.

  • Hair pulled back in a ponytail or bun so it's out of their face.

  • Tighter fitting clothing (with the exception of hip hop) so we can see their alignment and offer corrections.

Where can I get dance wear or dance shoes?

• We LOVE our friends over at Ballera Dance in Brookfield. They will help get you expertly fitted to ensure your dancer has the best dance experience.

• You can also shop online, just note sizing may be tougher.

How do I know where to go that first week?

• We got you! Stop by the front desk and ask for help. Or you can also see the sign on the corner of the counter that lists every class and which room it will be in.

• In your parent portal it will also show the room, just please note that could change slightly between now and when class starts or throughout the year if needed.
