A NOTE FROM MISS KATE:

I'm back from my annual Studio Owner's University conference with a very full heart and even more full brain! So many great ideas, resources, connections were made while I was there. And I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue my education and grow to be the best leader I can be for my team.

The group of studio owners that were there truly represent all things More Than Just Great Dancing...an organization we are SO proud to be a part of for nearly 8 years now!

Thank you to my amazing LDC team for handling all the things while I was away. It's a busy time ahead of us...LOTS of exciting things happening and we can't wait to share them all with you!

RECITAL COSTUME DISTRIBUTION!!

• February 3 we will start the recital costume handout process!

  • Most classes' costumes are in, but not all. So if your class is not in yet, no worries! They are coming and will be worth the wait!!

  • Make sure to wear TIGHT FITTING clothing the next 2 weeks for sure, as we will be trying on costumes and making sure they are all still good to go fit wise.

  • Dancers will take home their garment bag on their FINAL day of classes for the week. If you dance Monday, but have a class again on Thursday...you will put your bag on the garment rack in black and wait to take home until you have them all!

  • Dancer's will get their costumes in a garment bag with their name on it. Tights will be IN their bags (on the bottom). Make sure to keep these in a SAFE place until May when it's recital time. Save the dress up play for after recital please :)

  • REMINDER: If any costumes are a bit too big/long, etc. Miss Kate's talented mom, Miss Jan, will be at LDC in the spring to do any alterations...free of charge for you!

LDC TEAM SHOWCASE!

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 16 AT 2:00 PM

AT THE SHARON LYNNE WILSON CENTER IN BROOKFIELD

Are you interested in joining one of LDC's.3 teams someday? This is the show for you!

We have 3 teams: Sparkle Squad (ages 5-9), Performing Company (ages 8-18) and Competition Team (ages 11-18). All 3 of these teams will be performing at their annual team showcase. We hope you will come support them, it's a great show!

• Tickets are $15 each, plus tax

• Tickets will be on sale starting Monday 2/3 at LDC. You can email us your order or stop by the front desk.

• Show will be around 2 hours and 20ish minutes.

FUN STUFF, MARK YOUR CALENDARS:

CULVER'S NIGHT: This Thursday stop by Culver's on GRANDVIEW and support them (because they're awesome and delicious) AND support our specail needs non profit, Darby's Dancers by doing so. Thank you for doing so and thank you CULVER's...you are the best!

SPIRIT WEEK: The week of Feb 10-15 wear RED, PINK AND/OR WHITE! Also be sure to stop by the table in the lobby to fill out a heart. Write on why you love dance and/or dancing at LDC. We can't wait to fill the walls with heartfelt notes!

STORYTIME THURSDAY: Mark your calendars and tell your friends...Thursday 2/13 at 9:30am-10am is our FREE Storytime. We hope you will bring your little one for some fun for them and connection time for you too! Drop in dance class afterwards for ages 2-5, from 10-10:30am...$10 donation to Darby's Dancers gets you in on that fun!

LOST & FOUND: The table of lost goodies has been out for.a few weeks now. FInal days to claim, as we will pack them up to donate this weekend!

10/15 YEAR DANCERS: Don't forget to upload your headshot (see email that was sent 1/18/25). We can't wait to celebrate you and your dedication to dance and LDC!

DID YOU KNOW?

** We STILL need your help! **

We know it's cold and the kiddos are going StIR cRAzY being stuck inside, but we have had quite a lot of running around in the lobby and making quite the mess in the playroom, lobby and other common areas.

* PLEASE make sure your kiddos are being respectful of our dance space *

~ Clean up any messes

~ Keep food OUT of the playroom

** ~ NO RUNNING in the lobby halls **

Girls' locker room!

We would LOVE if the dancers would use the spacious girls' locker room for their dance bags, coats and shoes. There are 50 cubbies, lots of coat hooks and plenty of room to store all of your things while you are in class.

This will help us keep our lobby floors clear of clutter which not only looks better but will be safer too. Nobody likes to trip on a shoe left on the floor!!

And please do NOT put your dance bags and shoes/coats on the work counter by the front desk. That area needs to remain clear for adults to use to work at (or kiddos to do homework at).
