Hey there {{contact.first_name}}!
Are you familiar with the Pareto Principle? I'm sure you've heard of it. It may be impacting you more than you know.
It's the concept that 80% of our success comes from 20% of our efforts. As entrepreneurs, it's easy for tasks that feel urgent or productive to consume our days. We often equate "busy" with "successful." But if we look closer, we might find that the majority of that busyness is simply maintenance, administration, or low-value work that keeps the lights on but doesn't build the future.
You know how you can look back on your day, your week, or even your month, feeling like you did a lot of work but have little to show for it? Yep. That's what we're talking about here. The 80% busyness swallowed up your 20% impact. Unfortunately, "productive" does not equal "progress."
As you prepare your schedule and priorities for next week, and all the weeks to come, (You ARE preparing and prioritizing, right?) ask yourself this simple, powerful question: "If all other factors remain unchanged, what is the ONE thing I can do this week to make the greatest impact towards my goal?"
Identifying and prioritizing this one task every week ensures that you don't just keep the lights on; you maintain momentum towards attaining your highest goals. Don't go crazy with it! You do still have to keep the lights on, so you can't just discard those 80% tasks. But we design a future in which a year from now, five years from now, a decade from now, we are building an empire, not just paying the bills.
So next week, and every week after, make asking that question your first priority. Make accomplishing that ONE thing non-negotiable. If you need clarification or support, drop me an email. I'd be honored to help, and your first 30 minute Discovery Call is free.
